This is for all those people that are having the "connected to device problem" i had the same problem that whenever i went on it never said connected to device. with the help of amitguru, i discovered that the problem might've been related to the drivers of the psp, so i looked for others and i found this site
http://www.ps2nfo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11427&page=9 i got these files and now it works PERFECTLY!
If ur gonna try it, hope it works for u, 'cause it sure did 4 me :)

ps3 is going to kick the ass on all consals because it is 2times powerfull than the xbox 360 and 15x more powerful than the Nintendo Revolution is predicted to be. It has a processing capacity of 2.18 TFLOPS, which is put into context when you realise that some of the fastest computers in existence can only do 36 Terraflops. It is said to be 35x more powerful than the PlayStation 2 is. Unfortunately, we have not seen any playable games, and so it's difficult to judge on anything other than the official specifications. Hopefully E3 2006 will give us a better idea of what to expect.

Guys,
Regarding this working with DH.45 The tutorial does work and the linked files to download do work. Please read the first page for the complete step by step.
I must emphasise the part where you copy the PSP and DH folders from the link given over the existing folder in your memory stick is important.
Also Create a new folder labelled "PSP" and place the contents in the default My Documents folder. This makes it easier to locate the driver to detect the PSP.
Another thing is if you are concerned about the scrambled devHook icon in the menu select section, dont worry. Connect via USB, run the devhook installer again but this time select either the "Naruto" or "Bleach" theme settings. Once it has completed, exit out from it and try loading the Devhook in your PSP. The icon should change to either theme selected with their respective background music
