DVD Shrink 3.2.15 slows computer

Hello everyone.

I have just finished some upgrades to my computer. I had a 20gb hard drive that died, so I replaced it with a 200gb drive. At the same time I also added a 250gb drive and an GEForce NVIDIA graphics card with 512mb of video memory.

I am not a gamer, but do a lot of video editing and movie creation.

When I reinstalled DVD Shrink 3.2.15, then tried to launch the program, my computer slowed down to a crawl. Shrink never did launch. I tried (twice) to uninstall and reinstall Shrink without any better results.

I ran PC Tools Registry Mechanic on my system to clean up the registry. This did not improve anything. I have a P4 2.5ghz processor with 1gb of ram.

Does anyone know what might be conflicting with Shrink? Or, is there any other program out that that is shareware/freeware that does the same thing as DVD Shrink?

Hello.

There are trial versions of commercial programs that compress movies like Shrink but no freebees. Nero Recode is the closest as it was written by the same author.

Do you have Nero installed or DVD Decrypter? Shrink checks to see if they are installed.

Shrink to 5 Basic is free it will rip and shrink in one operation then you burn with your favorite program I use it and it works with all the new decryptions

As david66 mentioned, shrinkto5 is freeware, it only requires to download the machinist2.dll file, available through just about any search engine, for the best decrypting.

edwood - suggest you try the www.pcpitstop.com anylizer/optimize, it is very informative.
