Does anyone know will shrink work on HD DVD's. I unknowingly bought one and had to return it because my dvd player for my tv and my burner in my computer will not reconize it. Will we still be able to back up HD DVD's if we have an HD burner or will we have to get new software. Has anyone tried any. More and more HD DVD's are starting to hit the market.

Considering our DVD players and drives were made for DVDs, and NOT HD DVDs or Blu Rays, yeah, I'm willing to wager that all our programs won't work for the next generation DVDs. Why would it?

i think you are wrong about that, i did T 2 extreme dvd and it is high definition and i used shrink and dvd region + css free and made a back up of the disk so it can be done. this is the movie with the tin cover that goes over the dvd case, also if you don"t beleave me tell me how to do a screen shot of DVD Shrink and i will post one ok? it is hd it says on the back of the box and i quote (special edition version containing 16 minutes of additional seanes never seen in theatres! digitally mastered from a brand-new 1080p,24sf high-definition digital telecine transfer for superior video and audio quiality) so if that is not hd thain i could sue them for false addvertising right? here is another quote from another site (Titled ?T2: Extreme DVD,? the THX Certified DVD provides a state-of-the-art film presentation. The creation of the new HD master ensured that the DVD product remained true to the integrity of the original theatrical release. The detail is sharp, and the surround sound and sonic presentation are outstanding. In addition, a companion disc is included that enables consumers to view a complete theatrical version of the film using Microsoft Windows Media 9 playback. With ?T2: Extreme DVD,? consumers can experience the thrills of T2 in HD and 5.1-surround sound from the comfort of their desktop PC. For home theater and DVD systems, the new DVD comes equipped with the THX Optimizer?, a DVD special feature that allows consumers to adjust their home theater systems for maximum playback performance.

T2 extreme is not an HD Dvd. It's a standard dual layer dvd.

He is talking about real HD-DVD or a Blu-ray disk. Which cant be copied. They are very secure and probably will be hacked. There just not the right time. Theres no way to hack them right now.

There was some thery about pressing the print screen key one time every frame. If that could be automated and compiled then you would have a hack.

Right now you gotta just not mess with the original keep it safe.

I think all next gen dvd players will be backwards compatible (with regular DVDs) but not vice versa.

That's fine by me though. I'm not interested in spending ~25 dollars per disc. That's nuts.

I'll be patient.
