no, it won't work off the hard drive either. You can do a memory card exploit that will load ps1 games, but sorry, i forgot the name of the program. There are people who say you can load an original ps1 game, then swap for the backup as soon as the ps2 starts to read it.

If they did make a disc, you would have to buy it, it wouldn't work if you downloaded it (has to do with toc refreshing).

Care to expand on breaker pro.. That sounds like an interesting application.
The only way I know to run ps1 game backups on a ps2 is to have the ps2 fully chipped and to use a ps2 variant on the epsxe emulator (which has vanished?)
Some more info on this method will be great. Unless it's some sort of bootloader hdd app I can't see how it can work?
sly..It needs to be printed to defeat the media check. the TOC checking is an attempt to stop people using the loader from a printed disk to boot another burned iso by piggybacking.

ok theres a disk called breaker pro
its like swap magic but
its for ps2 un moded to play back up ps1 games
swap magic is for ps2 to run ps2 back up
breaker pro is for ps2 to run ps1 back up
so any ways if some one could create a breaker pro torrent that works
we coukld download then we would use swap magic to boot breaker pro then once that is loaded use it to boot ps1 back up
simple
but if we was to play back up final fantasy 7 or any game that use's more then 1 disk we would need to reboot the ps2 doing the second disk
so example
swap magic ---> breaker pro ----> final fantasy 7
play untill it says save and swaitch to disk 2
then save turn off ps2 turn back on
then
swap magic ---> breaker pro -----> final fantasy 7 disk 2
easy really
just the last breaker pro torrent i tryed got to 30% and no more
so if some one nice make us a torrent ill be happy to seed it
and we would have ps1 back ups working
excuse my spelling mirstakes please

go ahead and waste your time downloading breaker pro, its not going to work. Again, it has to do with toc refreshing.

Alright guys, let me put it this way since your not getting it. The ps2 treats breaker pro as a ps1 disc, how do you plan on booting a burnt copy with swap magic?

Ahh does it now.. I don't know anything about it, that's why I was trying to get info.. So breaker pro is a ps1 boot disk? or is it designed for the ps2?

I'm not sure if it works on a ps1 (75% sure), but yes, it lets you boot ps1 backups with your ps2. You boot swap magic, hit eject, insert breaker pro. The ps2 reads the disc and refreshes the toc to ps1, now you can swap for your ps1 backup. Im still not clear why refreshing with an original ps1 game doesn't work (ive tried it). BUT, as i said earlier, you can do a memory card exploit that will boot ps1 games, without you having to buy anything (you do need an original ps1 game to run the exploit though). I will search to see if i can find the name of the program.

you know what? the easiest way to play psx backups on your ps2 would be to use gameshark. the disc stops once its loaded. just load the back up without codes and you're set!

xsh1n, THANKS, I just burned gameshark but I didn't even think to use it as a frontend to boot ps1 discs, that's awesome.
