i have been using DVD Shrink successfully with hundreds of copies. all of a sudden i am getting error messages each time, ususally "data error (cyclic redundancy check)".

i am clueless whether this reflects a problem with my version of shrink or new software by the movie industry.

can anyone help?

Most likely it is the new protections on the new Dvds, or it can be a scratched or dirty disk.

U have to Rip the movie with DVDFab decrypter to ur HDD first than run them thru shrink

Shrink can not handle the latest releases so to get around this problem use DVDFab Decrypter, it's free. This program will remove all the latest encryptions while ripping the entire movie onto your HDD, after DVDFD has finished just use shrink to compress and burn with your usual burning program.

1) DVDFab Decrypter - this wil break the movies encryption while ripping the movie to your HDD

What else to do if the above does not work:

1) Update your dvdwriters firmware

2) Invest in good quality media Taiyo Yuden and Verbatims are best

3) Burn @4x

4) Check your dvd's for dirt, scratches

5) clean your dvd

If your dvd still does not back up, you most properbly have a badly authord dvd, so your only option is to exchange it.

What title are you trying to back up? Because, like these guys mentioned, it's probably a newer title--one that Shrink cannot handle because Shrink is about two years old.
