I'm gonna write you a quick summary of how to make xbox 360 games from download torrents.

First you'll need to register to REMOVED(pm for link), its a private tracker which has a bunch of xbox 360 games, the only thing is, you have to keep a ratio of at least 0.7 or else you will be removed.

Xbox 360 games run on DUAL LAYER dvd + r. Note the PLUS not MINUS DVD-R DL, those will NOT work. Only DVD+R DL, and only use Verbatim DVD+R DL, they are expensive, but insure your backup will run flawlessly, but you can buy some memorex DVD+R DL that are cheaper, that will NOT work past the menu, but at least you'll know its the medias fault not your game burning procedure, then go buy some verbatims, you don't want to test your first backup with expensive disks.

That being said... You'll need a DVD DUAL LAYER burner, specifically a Pioneer 111D or a LG H10N burner, if you have any NEC brands or SONY brands, those will not work, Lite-On's are known to work as well in some cases. If you are going to go to a computer shop, ask for a good Pioneer or LG burner that supports DVD-ROM BITSETTING (often reffered to as BOOKTYPE). DVD-ROM bitsetting burns dvd's to look like dvd-roms, and if your burner doesn' tsupport this feature, you will not be able to make a sucessfull backup.

Now you're gonna need some programs. The only program to burn the images you download is CloneCD, ABSOLUTLY NOTHING ELSE. Grab a copy of it somewhere, and DVDinfo Pro.

Now DVDinfo PRO lets you set your burners booktype to DVD-ROM i know most pioneer and LG burners do dvd-rom automatically, but you never know. Load up dvdinfo pro at the top you'll see an icon in the toolbar that says "+rw" click on that and change the DVD+R DL to dvd-rom.

Now you're all set to burn your image. When you download you'll get a bunch of .rar, inside is usually 2 files, an image file and a .dvd file. The image file will be large and will either be .000, .img, .iso, or other various image file extensions. The .dvd file is a small one.

Open CloneCD and select burn image, then select the .DVD file, NOT the image file (making sure you extracted them both to the same folder). Burn at 2.4x and ENJOY!

Ronnie I respect you writing a guide and appreciate all your help but saying
"The only program to burn the images you download is CloneCD, ABSOLUTLY NOTHING ELSE"

Is simplely not true , while it's the defacto program everybody is told to use there's a free alternative that will help everybody out having problems with CloneCD no matter where you got the image. DVD Decrypter aka ImgBurn works great http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?referid=269925&showtopic=5...

i know its totally not true, but its rediculous to use dvd decrytper, its a hastle and most find it confusing.... why would anyone resort to it, which is why i left it out in this easy to follow guide.

USE ONLY CLONECD, DON'T BOTHER WITH DVD Decrypter

I just didn't want to have to explain why DVD Decrypter is harder... but looks like im doing it anyway :D

EDIT: note this is a simple summary that will leave 95% of its follows very satified.. if you need trouble shooting, pm me. if you want to use DVD Decrypter go read :P but like me, i'd pretend DVD Decrypter doesn't exist when it comes to xbox 360 game burning.

we'll I'll handle the the DVD Decrypter questions. I personaly was getting alot of errors with my burner using cloneCD. DVD Decrypter is compatible with alot more burners than CloneCD. It's not that hard to use and it's free. imho

Ok, so first of all try clonecd, and if you just can't get cloneCD to work for some wierd reason, bug billz.

NOTE: If cloneCD doesn't support your burner, odds are neither will your xbox 360.

Do you really think the people making backups are paying for the software to do so??

LOL

we'll ofcourse sir, how dare you sully the good name of the backup community. I assume all of you have children or some other reason to back up your precious 360 games:p

It's just an alternative I agree, If cloneCd works forget about DVD Decrypter. atleast there's another option out there besides buy another burner

ahh yes, that burner.. :( Seems to have problems with 2.4x speed writing, prefers 2.0x, which is a foreign burn speed for cloneCD as it is not a standard. DVD Decrypter works with strange burnspeeds better. CloneCD would try to burn at 2.4x, pushing your burner over what it is capable of, causing serious issues. it cant do more than 2.0X correctly, and has many bugs. I wouldn't recommend this burner for anyone. imho

the ts-h552b, that is, since you edited it out.

sony dual layer burners are terrible for xbox 360 game backups... it wouldn't hurt to try DVD Decrypter, before you go out and buy a new burner.

hey ronnie I am new to the xbox firmware scene, but i grasped the whole concept,i got lord of the rings bfme2,injected the ss and wrote it with clone cd{5.2.8.1}.

the 360 says "the disc is unreadable, 1.Clean the disc with a soft cloth 2.Restart the console

for more help go to www.xbox.com/support"

though it recognizes the DVD as a game in the menu

I am using a "lite-on DVDRW SHW1635S"
and a "Mitsubishi DVD+R DL"

any sort of help would be greatly appreciated

i havn't used the bitsetting yet by which you can convert to -rom

Hi

Thanks for the Tutorial, seems fairly straightforward. I have a question though.

Everyone keeps saying you need a Pioneer 111D to burn Xbox 360 backups. Is this the same as the Pioneer 111, which is the drive I have?

Thanks

no, it needs to be a .dvd, and .000, .nrg is a Nero image, you probably still have to inject the ss's to it.

ok i got my problem fixed,it really was the bitsetting, the 360 can't recognize the DL's so they have to be converted into the dvd-rom,i have a lite-on DVDRW SHW-1635s and i downloaded the booktype setting from its website and the game booted without any problem

Ok, I have just downloaded a game and when I run it through WinRAR I get a .DVD file and a .ISO file. Normally I get a .DVD file and a .000 file. Is this still ok to burn straight to DVD with CloneCD or do I need to do something with the .ISO file to get it to work?

Thanks

you need to do nothing, just make sure your DVDRW booktype is "-ROM".to do that if you have a lite-on burner get the booktype tool from the lite-on website and if you have any other drive use DVDinfoPRO.and be sure to burn the .dvd file not the image.
