Well if you use FileZilla (Free FTP and very nice), just put your xbox's IP into the bar for Address, "xbox" for username and "xbox" for password. The port, if not already defined, should be 21. From there, click "Quick Connect". You need to make sure your xbox is on and in the dashboard. You cannot FTP outside of the dashboard. Once you're in, just navigate to your maps folder.

Use this link (http://www.download.com/FileZilla/3000-2160_4-10308966.html) for downloading FTP FileZilla.

... I told you.. FTP Them... If you don't know how to FTP, read up on it or don't bother modding.

ok dude to get the maps onto your hardrive you need to get dvd2xbox then use FTP to get them on your computer....you need to get dvd2xbox...ftp that into your applications folder...then put in halo2 in your disk tray...run dvd2xbox and then save halo2 to your hardrive..the go on your computer and go into E:/TDATA/4d530064/$c and there will be folders with a bunch of nubers....take all of those and FTP them to your computer..does this answer your question?

@thegrizz
Failing to load the map means you need to either resign or fix the encryption of the map. In your case it's fix the encryption. Also to change the picture you need a program called something like mainmenu editor.

In the map tools section of dothalo, there is a button that says fix encryption. Click it.

Hello, im brand new to the forum

im also relitivly new to modding

so let me start by saying

i downloaded a few .map files from halomods.com and an trying to get them onto my xbox

i followed your tutorial and everything went smooth, except resigning the maps, becuase im guessing he built the maps intead of modified existing maps?

what value should i enter so that my map will be signed and i can play it on mp not signed onto live.

also how do i edit the thumbnail that previews the map under the mainmenu.map file

thank you very mcuh!

I have the same problem.(or similar)
I put in the maps on the xbox, modded the mainmenu, and it shows up and loads fine until the game starts. Then it goes back to pregame lobby.

The problem you guys are having is the value you used. You just have to mess around with them until you find ones that work. Also make sure that the values you are trying aren't the same values as the original maps.

Also about editing the thumbnail, I can't seem to find the tutorial on how to do it. Just search HaloMods.com because there is one on there that is really good but you need Adobe Photoshop.
