Im pretty damn sure the warranty only lasts for 90 days from purchase, its 1 year they said, but they meant if you bought the warranty. If you got yours at bestbuy and got the warrantly, lemme tell ya, you're in luck, you'll prolly just get a new one. But if your PSP is working, you really shouldnt continue the thread. Saving a few extra seconds while your mem stick is reading stuff is no problem other members want to solve. Glad you got the PSP working tho.

My UMD drive does not work! (ever since this dropping in the water thing) So...I will see what Sony says if it's not going to get me a free repair (I most probably will get it repaired because I have prepared the right words...lol) then I will consult ipirate's guide on fixing it and I have read a few threads that says "push the lens closer to the spinning thing". However for this I need to break the seal...meaning that I have to "try out" Sony first.
If I insult you...don't get offended...my insults are "friendly insults"...I know this sounds stupid (ridiculous) but I am fet up of writing, "no offense" in my posts...

Well...if I can't fix my UMD drive for free...this is another reason why I should download the games I buy...atleast god spared every other part of the PSP...its to early to tell, I will call Sony tommorow...but something just struck my head, if I send it to Sony, they will make it 2.80! If I fix the UMD drive myself...then, I will keep it at 1.5, right? Well...I have to think about this...

My PSP is just like new except that the mem stick reads slightly slower and the umd drive does not work but when I leave a UMD in the UMD drive, it freezes and does not go into the menu of the psp...I always have to take the UMD out for it to go into the menu..

[hi, i was upgrading my psp to 2.8 and suddenly a thunder fell down the sky...]no seriously why not, tell them the truth, you have your receipt, 1 year warrenty, no missing with the warrenty sticker, youre safe, and yeah the serial registration number has to be there.

I am going to say that I was listening to music and then it just stopped, I thought it was the battery so, I plugged it in the AC adapter, nothing! Then the next day, BAM!...it worked (which is true). Then I just realized that I could not play any games because my UMD drive does not work.
Hows that?
P.S.
I will upgrade my PSP to firmware 2.50...so that they dont think I am using homebrew and if they send it back untouched, I can downgrade...lol!

Your joking right? Sony can not do a thing to you for having a 1.5, no matter what. Get over that man, even if the dude that checks it knows what up, there isnt a damn thing he can do. Only way you can possibly get in trouble is if you pull a stupid and leave your mem stick in with a bunch of iso's. LOL, that would be awesome, sending your psp to them full of games made by Sony on your mem stick! lol

Too bad sony doesnt make the games. They only sell the SDK to create the games. There might be a game or two they made but I don't think I've seen any sony made games. Correct me if I'm wrong.
