Hi everyone. new here but not to dvd burning. however, i have been out of it for a while. My question is, will DVD Shrink rip everything if not what software is recomended? free preferably. I dont mind paying for quality software that will always be updated and not banned or anything.
thanks in advance. Regards, Dan.

DVD Shrink + AnyDVD is the best way to go in my opinion. AnyDVD is a paid program though.

Hi danrulz01
I agree w/ Cinch on AnyDVD. Great and stays updated to handle anything out there.
Not free but has a 21 day trial.
http://slysoft.com

It's 'companion' is CloneDVD. 21 day free trial too & same site.
AnyDVD works well w/ Shrink too.

Here's 2 guides on free apps that will do the latest stuff too:
Ripit4Me:

DVDFab Decrypter/vobblanker:

The DVDfab>Vobblanker>shrink or Nero Recode2>ImgBurn have not failed me yet,

havent tried RIPit4Me yet but seems just as good, no need to buy any programs with these options, if u dont mind doing the steps.

if not AnyDVD the best $$$$ for the program like all the rest said.

I use AnyDVD + CloneDVD which are updated fairly often so you're always ahead do any DVD protection including Sony and Disney. You can also use DVD Shrink instead of CloneDVD. I like CloneDVD just because if you want to eliminate the movie previews, can take them out as if they were never there and when you start the DVD, the main move will just start right away whereas with DVD Shrink, you'll get a "Picture has been removed" sign or something like that on your screen instead.

i agree with the 300bowler's method. even though shrink is an older encoder, it still is one of my most used programs. as far as recode goes, its a lot faster than shrink, but to each his own. im a die hard shrink supporter.arcoss/puppetlock protected dvd's are no match for the blanker & shrink! im sure the companies relized its a losing battle by now so my guess is they will start to relish the new hddvd format.. we will see

@danrulz or those that needed helps

Don't sweat, there are tons of free guides/tools laying around if only you know how to search for it. However, that is if you can devote your time to read and follow them closely, then you shouldn't have any problems ripping movies. It cost you "nothing", especially if you're an advance user for either "RipIt4Me" or "DVDFAB Decrypter".

Again, DVDFAB Decrypter (12 minutes to rip) + VobBlanker (5 minutes or less to process/clean and blank out junks that you don't need them). Or you can go with "RipIt4Me", which is in combo with DVD Decrypter + PSL plugin + FixVTS.

Below are some of the FREE tools that can rip any dvds (yes.. even new released) flawlessly, regardless if it's RipGuard or ARccOS. Below are some very useful FREE tools to have. The choice is yours.

<< *FREE* Ripper & Editing tools >>
** DVDFAB Decrypter - one of the best FREE ripper now (takes 12 minutes to rip)
** RipIt4Me - one of the best FREE COMBO/ripper including DVD Decrypter + PSL (12 - 15 minutes to rip)
** VobBlanker - one of the strongest FREE editing tool (2 - 5 minutes to process/fix fake structural, fake cells, dummy vts/pgc, etc. flawlessly, it can "cut, edit, strip and blank" out any scenes/vts/cells or unwanted junks.)
** FixVTS - one of the best FREE junks processing tool (works the same way like VobBlanker, but it "can not" edit or blank out unwanted junks.)
** PgcEdit - a very useful FREE editing tool.

<< *FREE* Transcoding tool >>
** DVD Shrink - (one of the best FREE transcoding engine).

<< *FREE* ISO/Image burning engines from LUK >>
** DVD Decrypter
** ImgBurn

For more info on how to use DVDFAB Decrypter or RipIt4Me, check out the links below:

Good lucks and happy burning.

Nah - where there's a will there's a way :)
Those developers at Slysoft, Fengtao(dvd fab decrypter) etc sure help by staying on top of the copy protection.

Follow the guide in my post above or alkohol's for the Ripit4me.
Shrink is used too so you'll be able to get it on a single layer dvd.

Hi danrulz01
You can play the video_ts folder from your hard drie with something like Nero Showtime, Windows Media Player.

For mulitple burns - Nero will also burn to 2 or burners at once.

Shrink can't handle Hitch - has Sony's ARccOS. So you'll need to use AnyDVD running in the background or one of the free ways ine the guides above.

Hey klinger
That combo should be fine. The newer ones like RV, Inside Man - to name 2 - I've been able to do w/ AnyDVD & Shrink. Also using AnyDVD w/ Clone & dvdfab decrypter/shrink.
