RECENTLY I PURCHASED A NEW DELL DIMENSIONE510 COMPUTER. I INSTALLED MY DVDX PLATINUM SOFTWARE WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. I'VE BEEN SUCCESSFULLY USING THIS PROGRAM, FOR YEARS, ON MY OLD COMPUTER. WHEN I USE THE PROGRAM ON MY NEW COMPUTER, ALL I GET ARE COASTERS. THE PROGRAM GIVES ME EVERY INDICATION THAT IT IS WORKING FINE. THE MOVIE DOWNLOADS,AND BURNS. UNFORTUNATELY, THE FINISHED PRODUCT WILL NOT LOAD ON ANY OF MY DVD PLAYERS. THESE SAME DVD PLAYERS HAVE ALWAYS PLAYED ALL DVDs THAT I BURNED USING THE OLD COMPUTER. ANY THOUGHTS....

Is it dvdxcopy platinum or dvdx platinum. I would try and stay away from the first one as this company shut down and then reopened some where else. From what I understand that software no longer includes a ripper/decrypter, so you would have to download and install one. You might just be missing a decrypter.

try not to type in all caps as that is considered yelling, don't want you to be suspended.

ouch! thanks for the caps tip. actuall this is the original 321studios dvdxcopy platinum 3.2.1 version. i bought it several years ago, and i have successfully burned 100's of dvd's. that was on my old computer. i've loaded it on the new computer, and these are the results. also, thanks a second time for the tip on the other forum. i posted here before i found it.

I have two Dell Dimensions and Xcopy will work on both, however that is with older movies and not the newer encrypted movies. Just what movies are you trying to do? You might want to think about using some newer software to backup movies, Xcopy has seen better days I am surprised it even activated.

after the initial failure, i've only tried burning copies of purchased originals, that i've burned successfully in the past. i've burned these movies in the past with the exact same software, on my old computer. the old burns were fine. the new computer does have two drives, but i used the drive select on the dvdx program, and the drives are now selected properly. it's really odd...the program seems to do everything successfully. it downloads, it burns and i get a 'successful burn' window. the resulting dvd's won't load in anything i have. by the way, getting the software activated is not difficult. all you do is contact dvdxcopy international. they added 3 loads for me.

theres a few problems that can cause that .using poor blank media .try using Taiyo Yuden and or Verbatim.

and with x copy you cant control the burn speed and alot of newer blank media is 16x which can be a problem, burning at 16x is NOT advised.

if your going to back up your dvds getting better software is the way to go ,try CloneDVD 2 with AnyDVD lots better than x copy by leaps and bounds theres a free 21 day trial you can control the burn speed ,no nag screen ,you can do the movie only and the picture quality is great .heres a guide
