iv noticed that many many people have been posting there problems about there lasers not working and sending me pms on how to fix it and i figured its about time to make a thread on how to fix this.
{since i am on vacation in hungary ittl be about 10 days until i can put up pictures on how to fix this, if someone want to send me pics that they think are wirth putting up send me the direct link to the pic via pm and if i put them up ill credit u {ps these keyboards dont have proper brackets, lol}
first u want to see if your laser is working, i found out a couple days ago that if u open the umd tray very fast after putting a umd in for a couple seccond u can see a red light coming out of your laser. if u dont see this light after sever attempts then u probobly have a dead laser {pm me if u want to buy 1}
if the laser is working u want to check that the lasers drive motor is working, place a umd in the tray and close. if u hear the laser moving back and fourth than it works, if it doesnt make any noise than the motor is gone {pm me for a replacement}
if the laser works and the motor works open the umd tray and look at the laser, check to see if it is parallel to the side of the tray or not. if its on an angle u need to get your hands on a pair of mini needle nose pliers, pur a tiny bit of electric tape on the tips of the pliers to avoid damaging the laser. gently get a hold on the laser and try repositioning it. if it doesnt work u mite have a broken interior gear sleve. this unfortunately in unreparable {to my knowledge} your best odds are to get a new laser {pm me}
if the laser is not on an angle, it mite have gotten stuck on the drive gear, try using a mini screwdriver with some electric tape on it to move the laser to its original position on the left side of the tray {rite against the umd drive motor {its the little clip-like thing that turns the umd}
another problem mite be that the lasers drive gear is bent as a resault of hard impact {especialy is the psp was on} you would have to replace the gear {yet again...pm me}
if u have questions about taking your psp apart, check out iPirates guide on opening your psp. a dont think he covers how to open and fix your umd so ill add that in my thread wen i get the pics.
if uhave any questions feel free to post in this thread or send me a pm.
PLEASE DO NOT POST IN MY SHOUTBOX AS I DO NOT CHECK IT VERY OFTEN
i hope this thread helps answer many questions, but remember, watever u do is AT YOUR OWN RISK and i take NO RESPONSIBILITY if u damage your psp. i do not want to recive pm saying I DAMAGED YOUR PSP {exclemation mark doesnt work either}
enjoy :P

c if u can get a laser from hexitnow
to remove the lasers ribon u need to pull the clip out, u can see this clip hanging out the side of the ribon, u need to use a small screwdriver or even ur fingernail might work (if its long enough) pull the slip outwards and the ribon shud be free
