I have a friend who told me that his 360 is red led flashing in the controller lighting area (when you turn on the controllers some leds in the 360 are turned on in green...) those leds are flashing in red, I told him to disconnect and reconnect all of his cables and the problem was still there...
Notes that could help:
-The led of the powering on the console is green...
-He is using wireless controllers...
-He has played before without a problem...
Any help will be appreciated specially since my friend has cancer and playing 360 is one of the things that keeps him more entertained...
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

How many red lights. He most likely has a Hardware failure and should exchange his 360. But it would help how many red lights there are.

No, he's talking about the controller. Replace the batteries and this should go away.

No, I think he is talking about this green light in the middle of the light ring on the console. Is the red light on the console or controler?

he must be talking about the console it's self, because the led on the wireless controller does not go red when it's near empty on charge,it just flashes green every 10 secs until it cuts off and u have to then recharge it,so he must be talking bout the console, but if he is talking about the controller, maybe the controller has a hardware mailfunction...if it's the console and it has a garuntee then just take it too the store that u purchased it from for a replacement(new console) otherwize ring up microsoft

Ok, then it is dead, you should send it to Microsoft or exchange it at the store.

If its flashing 4 red, it could just be the AV cord issue. But if its flashing 3 red, its doomed.

Guys I have the same problem, a red ring of red lights appears around the power button (4 red lights). I haven't had this problem until I got it modded. The guy that modded it said it had nothing to do with what he did. Does anyone have an idea?

Uh, when there are 4 red lights (are you sure its not 3) it means the AV Cable is unpluged from the console.

Yea I'm sure, all the lights around the power button light up red and no image is seen on the tv. It's like the 360 isn't even on. But I have checked the AV's and even switched them with other ones and nothing happens.

I looked around and i found out that when all 4 lights are flashing red it's related to the AV cables, that's the ONLY thing that will turn ALL 4 lights on, so unless it's not really ALL 4 lights, it has to be the AV cable.
Try cleaning the matal part of the connector with rubbing alchohol and try again. If not, see if you can borrow someone else's cable and see if it works, if it does you need a new cable, of course.
OH, see if you have the cable in the wrong setting, HD when it's not, could be.
Hope this helps you !

I have a similar problem. i installed the nme360 V1.1 in my 360 console and it boots up fine. I hear the fan start to speed up then after about five minutes two of the lights on the console turn red and the tv screen goes blank. If anyone is familiar with this problem, any help is very appreciated. I am not sure if i need a cooling fan or does the nme 360 chip needs to be flash. Thanks.

i figured out the problem. i had to put the cover back on the xbox 360 so that the air from the fan would blow directly non the heat sink. Just incase anyone else had a problem.

I got the dreaded 3 red LED. Gonna leave it alone for a while and hope it's just overheating. If so, need to find a better place to put it.
Console laying flat, get these led:

Damn thing's only 2 weeks old, and I've barely put any stress on it. I think the longest I've played at one time is maybe 2 hours.
