hey guys ok i got 3 red flashin lights not 4 3 i umpluged the wires check the Hardrive and etc and wires and everything even cleaned it with a soft cloth and still getting 3 lights how can i fix this freaken problem and its not showing a picture on my tv ether i need your guys help asap so my mom dont have to buy another 360

I got the same problem with 3 blinking red lights. From clockwise, they are the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quadrants. Anybody knows what that mean and how to fix it. Thanks a lot.

This usually means your console is dead... Better contact M$ 1-800-4my-xbox
when i play the with the top lid on the xbox after about an hour i get 3 red lights.... i leave the top lid off and it dont have a problem. I did replace the sata cable also though.
Okay guys. Actually you can do exactly what that one guy said up there about taking your Xbox 360 apart and simply reheating the motherboard. However, you do need to take some precautions before just burning the hell out of it. Anyway, I bought an Xbox 360 with the 3 LED problem and I actually got it to work this way. I have another one with the same problem right now but that method didn't seem to work on it. So...I'm going to try it one more time this weekend and if it doesn't work then I guess I'm screwed on that one but...an Xbox modder that I know from aroundmy area tells me that you need to apply more thermal paste to both the CPU and the GPU in between the heat sinks. Supposedly they both get overheated because there isn't enough thermal paste or whatever...but I don't think that makes much sense to me... whatever.
