I have seen other instructions at psp-hacks.net, etc... that call for you to have a 1.50 firmware user to pass you files. What are they talking about? That step is not mentioned here.

dont worry about that step. if you download the easy 2.71 downgrader it includes the downdater folder. it includes ALL necessary files. heres a link for ya too.

I am downdating this weekend, when I get a chance to get away from work, but before I do I was wondering what the estimated chances of bricking a PSP are when the downdating process is followed correctly? I am willing to take the risk, I would rather know what percentage I fall into after I am successful or unsuccessful.
I.E. 18 out of 20 downdates performed correctly are successful...

well i have downgraded 10 psp and none of them bricked 7 with the with-bug downdater and 3 with without-bug downdater

Clean firmware...
I can get 1.50 -> 1.00. What games can I use to officially upgrade to 1.50 again? Or other suggestions...
My setup does work and I shouldn't really touch it, but I downgraded from 2.60 and have a small feeling that I should do some house keeping...

F**K IT
Did everything as described to the T. No gold lettering on back right hand side so no 082. Even reset settings. Hit button, saw red for about 2 seconds and screen went black. No flickering from the memory stick. Now nuffing.
guess im one of those unlucky ones........sob

I meant I also bricked a psp :O I used the first downgrader you posted tho ... so I don't really know what happened... the bad thing about this is that it was not mine :| so I'm in troubles right now :P ... I dont really know what went wrong...

yeah the red screen poped for like humm 3 secs and then it just turned off and I thought it just downgraded faster than with mine but then it couldn't turn on :(

I told him... but he is still a little bit angry ... anyways he didn't really used his psp so its the same for him... thx anyways for the help and the downgrader ... it worked for me :D and I'm and will continue enjoying my 1.5 psp :D

So how many people have come across TA-082 mobos, we know that they are in NZ, has anyone found any other findings on how to spot them other than looking unda game enclosure and the people that have been unsuccessful, are you too ashamed to say that you forgot to check the mobo? Because in saying that u've bricked a psp and not mensioning that you didnt check the mobo (knob heads :-p) scares alot of people into doing this when there might be no problems at all, am i correct in saying this or am i just making myself sound like an a$$
