Hi guys,
Sorry if I am asking a much repeated question but I have looked about and cannot find an answer.
I have XBOX iso files on my pc which I want to transfer to my xbox hard drive. I can burn the files fine onto dvd and they work fine and I have been using dvd2xbox to rip the dvds onto the hard drive.
Can anyone tell me a way to do it directly please?
Thank you in advance

First off you can FTP the game directly from your computer to your xbox. But don't FTP the iso image, you have to extract the files from it with a program like craxtion4. Then FTP those files to your games folder on the xbox.
If you're new to ftping here's a tutorial...

I extracted the content of the iso, uploaded to the box but it is just hanging on "Your selection is loading" when I try to run the game. It has happened on 2 games i have tried now. Any ideas?

OK, that happened to me.
What I did was delete the cache.
To do this, delete everything in your x y and z folders.
It should work after this.

Did that but still the same :(
Would I need to upload the game again after clearing the cache?
I have now tried qwix also and doing exactly the same.
Sorry for bothering you but I am quite a newb to all this :)
Thanks again for your help

did you delete the cache in the E partition.. i forgot about that
i've never used craxtion to extract the files myself but it should work. One thing you could try is to use craxtion4 to patch the default.xbe file in the game. Then load it to the xbox.

I am right in thinking the file just goes into f:\Games right?

I patched the ISO yes.
Would it have anything to do with whether these games had been patched previously? I mean to just burn to a dvd?

I don't think patching it twice would hurt.
But you said you patched the iso, you should patch the default.xbe file because you're not transfering the iso to your xbox, your transfering the files you extracted from the iso, which is where the default.xbe file is.

Still the same :(
I also tried cxboxtool as well and the same thing happens??
Might it be my dashboard or one of the apps?
The only thing I have done since the standard slayer install is to update xbmc and dvd2xbox and remove xbmp from f:\apps and edited the evox.ini file to remove it from the menu.

Yes it just hangs there too but with a completely black screen. The box is frozen and I can do nothing but hit the power button

i know i had the same problem, but deleting the cache helped me.
There is a setting under system setting called autopatch or something like that, try fooling around with this to see if it does anything.

Where was that sorry?
I have had a look in the xbox system management and nothing like autopatcher appears there?
I am currently going to rip a game to my pc and then send it back to the hard drive of the xbox to rule out any problems there.

Do you know where I can get hold of Unleash x? I hear a lot of ppl saying it is far better than evox. I found an option in cxbox tool to browse to the xbe file and patch that individually so I am giving that a go now as was getting errors ripping a game from xbox. I prefer to do it the other way :P
And yes I have put the game onto a dvd and it works fine ??
Thanks again for the help man i would be drowning without you :)

You can get unleashx on xbins
As for the program you are trying to use to patch the .xbe files individually you can do that with craxtion4, you just need to use the original file instead of the iso, thats why you have to extract it first.
Have you copied the game from the dvd to the xbox with dvd2xbox?

I havent yet no. But I have just created a modified xbe file and put that into the game folder and tried to run that through dvd2xbox but that doesnt work either. And I did browse directly to that file to launch the game but the same thing happened

How did you get your softmod on your xbox, i used sid4 installer and it had an option to either install evox or unleashx.
By the way try to copy it to the HD with dvd2xbox, if it still doesn't work we'll know it's the game.

peomp,
I haven't read much about the 360, but you can post in the xbox 360 forum and ask someone who could answer your question a little better.
