i ran this movie through DVDFab Decrypter and VobBlanker and this is what it came up with.
when i ran it through VobBlanker it says Post commands changed into precommands in 0 PGCs of total of 0
Finished in no errors 17 warnings

should i try burning it or would it waste another dvd?
thanks in advance

hello crazyman1,

U can just try to burn it after u use shrink. i have got warnings while using VobBlanker before and just ignored them and the burn came out perfect.

out of the free programs you have helped me with which ones do you think are better?

In my opinion neither are better then each other, they are both great programs, and can copy any movie out there. its just personal prefrence of which one u want to use. I only use the DVDFab>vobBlanker becuz i like to blank out all the trailers and fbi warnings, but occasionaly i use ripit4me too. again both are very good

In my opinion DVDFab>vobBlanker seams easyer to use than ripit4me
if i could find a good manual for ripit4me and fixvts i would give them a try. i have tryed them in the past but cant figure out how to set them up.

Yeah dvdfab w/ VobBlanker is a but easier but RipIt4Me isn't that bad either.
I use a combo of things - sometimes the free stuff - sometimes the paid stuff. Like to play around :) I like that RipIt4Me uses my old favs - decrypter & shrink.

Here's 2 guides that might help w/ RipIt4Me:

How did you make out on Scary Movie?

Did you overburn at 8x on these or just stick w/ the 4x?
Players can be picky - getting any error or just not loading the disc?

Might want to take that can of air and blow it lightly in the player - I usually use a lens clean to clean the dust on the lens every once in awhile.

i ran a dvd cleaner through it and still nothing, tryed another burned dvd of the same brand and it playes fine. scary movie playes fine but scary movie 2 wont play. scary movie and scary movie 2 are on Maxell and were burned about 3 hrs apart.

I'm leaning towards the dvd player since it plays on the pc.
I occasionally run into this usually on the ps2 & sometimes a friends player. But they always play great on another player. What one palyer may not play any one usually does.
Players can be picky unfortunately.

To increase compatability the next time you buy blanks - pick up some +R's. Your burner (the LiteOn) supports booktyping to DVD-Rom. Your dvd player will think it's a DVD-Rom (what the original DVD's are).
You can booktype thru Shrink, Nero, Decrypter, ImgBurn and LiteOn has a booktype utility. Very easy - basically just a click in one of the programs mentioned.

3 hours apart - well should be good unless the pc was running constantly and the drive was getting warm. May play a factor.
I do quite a few one after another - drive(s) starting to get warm and all okay. Not recommending it I just push things sometimes :)
If it gets too warm I do shut it down for a little bit then start again.

If the video_ts folder is still on your hard drive you can burn again using Nero Express. Just use the dvd-video option and add the folder.
I'd also try another player and see if it plays in that.

i tryed some +R's at one time and my dvd player didnt like them. maby i will get another pack of good quality +R's and try them again.

3 hours apart pc was not running constantly. i did scary movie and watched it then backed up scary movie 2. it did play on a cheap apex dvd player but not my main dvd player.

I already deleated all the folders for this movie. I gues i will have to just re do it. it will give me somthing to do LOL

Ok so now we definitely ruled the cause to the player!
Funny how a cheapy one will play it better than a more expensive one sometimes :)

If you get the +R's booktype them to DVD-Rom - that will make them almost universally compatible to hopefully play on all your players.

If you need help with it just let us know!

Still think you're doing quite well w/ the backup business :)

In Shrink when click 'back up' click on the burn settings tab. There's a box there to check 'booktype to DVD-Rom'. Easy.
But can only booktype w/ +R media.
