Cannot open files in DVD Shrink

I use dvd decrypter+Shrink+nero to complete my backup process and I have been successful so far in last 6 - 8 months. last week i had this problem with a brand new dvd. the decrypter could not finish pocess beyond 4%
1. where do i get the log files of this process.

I did some serach and then used pcgedit with some plugins. the process went on fineand it said - It did not have any protection files (but used some crack from time to time in the process). it said I did not need to use the Vob Blanker.

This still did not help and I could not open files in shrink. I then used IFO edit and did the process, still it does not help completely. now I am able to open the files but I only see the Title files for some MB and main movie for only 300 mb. its a complete 7.85 gb movie and I see can see that under the folder propertes.

Picture 1 is the files which showes the files in the decrypter folder

which dvd? you might want to try the following: 1. dvdfabdecrypter -> VobBlanker -> shrink OR 2. ripit4me OR 3. AnyDVD (free 21 day trial).

I did a another dvd before and after this failed dvd and everything went file. it is only this particular one - and i do not have this particular dvd with me anymore ..only the files from decrypter on my harddrive.

several things:

1. every commercial dvd will be different in terms of how much and what type of anti-copy encryptions and other methods they contain. sony and disney releases in particular MAY have significantly more, or more difficult, problems to solve.

2. dvddecrypter on it's own cannot deal with any of the newer encryptions. it will work if you use AnyDVD running in the background. but either dvdfabdecrypter in combination with VobBlanker, or ripit4me will handle current anti-copy measures.

3. this forum and website only support making backup copies of dvds that are owned by an individual. you could try running your dvddecrypter files through VobBlanker or fixvts prior to trying shrink, but i'm not sure that will work. worth a try though. best to get the original and start over using all the appropriate software.
