Hello.

The three common cause for your problem:

1. Using poor quality media. Use Verbatim, Taiyo Tuden and made in Japan labeled Fuji and Sony disks.

2. Burning too fast. Limit your burn speed to half or less the rated speed of the media. This is extremely important for poorer quality media. I use 4X most of the time to get a good burn but it depends on your burner and the particular media what is the best speed.

3. Make sure your burner firmware is up to date. Firmware can be found at the link below or at the manufacturer's support site.

How old is your player. Most newer ones can read both -R and -R without problems. If you're using +R media and your burner can booktype to DVD ROM that can sometimes help, but the most likely cause is one or more of the three I listed.

Thanks a million for the prompt response. I am using imation DVD So far did not give any problem. Burning was set at maximum and this could have been the reason.

Thank once again.

Hi.

Imation isn't the best media so definitiely slow down your burn speed to 4X and see if that's successful.
