Sounds like your asking for 2 different questions here and both answers are NO and YES.

You said; "Used DVD Shrink to back up movie to my hard drive not to DVDR."
Answer: No, you can no longer have/use DVD Shrink to backup or rip new released movies/dvds to your hard drive now-a-days due to the heavy encrypted protections (i.e. RipGuard and ARccOS, fake/invalid/corrupted cells, vts, pgc, etc.) You'll need either RipIt4Me or DVDFAB Decrypter (both FREE) to handle the job, or you can get AnyDVD from Slysoft for $39.

You said; "all i just want to know what program i need to use in order to watch the movie straight from my hard drive."
Answer: there are tons; you'll need Nero ShowTime, Windows Media Player or Classic Windows Media Player, PowerDVD, WinDVD, etc. The choice is yours.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

hey thanx for the input so just to make sure, you're saying that using DVD Shrink to rip the movie to the hard drive just works to rip and record to a DVDR and if i just want to rip newer movies to my hard drive and watch them on my hard drive i need to use the dvdfab or some other ripping program.

notyou,
What they are saying is DVD Shrink has not been updated is 3 Years so it can not decrypt the newer movies. That is why you use the other programs and rip the DVD to HD so you can view it there. Just use any of the programs Alkohol mentioned.

You can also watch the movie with Shrink.
Open the movie on your HDD by using "Open Files".
Start the Main movie in the preview screen, double click or right click the preview screen and select "Full Screen".

If you right click the preview screen that brings up a menu. Select Audio and you can select the different audio streams available on the particular title you are watching.... A good way to check for missing audio. You should have an AC3 5.1 ch stream in most cases.
