Edit: Don't think this makes any sense but.... yeah
Using the 2.6 firmware included in the Ultimate Installer I got every game I was having trouble with BUT Smackdown. Oh well, I'll be getting the new one for the 360 in a month anyway.
That seems odd to me that 2.6 firmware worked but 2.71 didn't..... bad 2.71 dump? But that makes no sense since all I did was install the Easy Installer

thanx for the sites kealvaro, I am happy to say that I am now playing Street fighter Alpha Max from my memory card and that KICKS ASS!!! now if i can find a way to play my GBA emulated games with my psp... do u know anything about that??? if so let me know and thanx again!!!

hey hello any one,
i followed up this really cool tut, everything is working except for the switching between 2.71 and 1.5 everytime when i set the settings to
umd delect: burnout.iso
firware : 2.71
after that i press start my background is now blue and when i select device hook again to switch to 1.5 i get the follwoing error
error 0x800 20146 loading/starting reboot.prx
does somebody know what to do i like to run some homebrew like irshell

Hey guys, first of all, this is an amazing website and thread, i followed everything in ur guide and i can play ISO/CSO, woot ! but now i got a little noobie problem.... all the other games work flawlessly, and Valkyrie.Profile.Lenneth.[USA] freezes during first combat.... i tried adjusting clock speed, ( tried all 3) and tried 2 images, ( both ISO/CSO) from different creators, and they all freeze at the same time, same scene. Since I am an Ultra noob -_- i dont know what else to make it work T_T or should i give up....

Guys what does it mean move "flash0","flash1","reboot.bin" to memorystick(dh/150) make sure "reboot bin"
is the folder at B)9 in the guide. There is no folder called reboot bin in dh/150. Should I make one? And which of the two directories and the file should I put in?
And thank you kealvalro for the answer with the ISOs! :-)

it means that you need to move the files "flash0","flash1","reboot.bin" to the memory stick folder 'dh' en then folder '150' and what is says then "make sure that reboot.bin is IN the folder!" (not the folder)

vampiro93 yes,u can emulate devhook on 2.71 even if it is TA-082.well good luck if u are going to try.
anymouse to go to 1.5 from 2.71 do this
GAME > MEMORYSTICK > devhook0.4x launcher for 2.71
then the settings in devhook
umd select any
firmware 2.71 MS HOOK
cpu 222/111
leave the rest alone
if this do not work use my easy installer located in the end of my first post.coz last time someone got mixed up,and he was glad it worked
asp2006 no prob for iso
pspnoobie,maybe the iso is currupted try to download a different iso
find them here torrentspy,blackcats or gamestorrents.

Hi All,
first of all my compliments on the great guide. I actually got my PSP to work today and played some games.
BUT I noticed something. The first time I started HEN C and then Devhook 0.46 everthing worked fine with the games. The second time (after playing a games (both UMD and backed up ones) I couldn't run HEN C anymore (nor Devhook).The screen turns blue and then shut down (and does not restart). I tried a couple of times, but still it did not work. Then I decided to delete my saved games. After the I deleted my saved games I could start HEN C and Devhook again.
So what I experience: when I have saved games on my mem stick HEN C and thus devhook don't work.
Does anyone have any suggestions for this issue?

that is weird i never had any thing like that but if u come to this.
my guide is a bit compilcated for you guys.
so do what,use my easy installer at the end of my first post.
coz last time another person had problems so try it.

pantherx i have tried using gpspv0.7 this works great.
the game i have tried is mario kart,works but the problem is the sound that shakes a lot but it is good that it works.if u guys want to try i can make another easy installer for u guys
and also there is a new devhook launcher with new features.
try it i already did and it is great

so ur basicly having the same problem as i am. but your using gpsp. Im using PSPGBA_1017 and i got my game to work but they play extremly slow and the sound is all choppy. how well did your mario kart play? because my Megman zero is basicly unplayable but it is still kind of cool to see it load on my psp. honestly i dont think the psp's cpu can handle the frame speed of my emulated games but then again i could just be doing somthing wrong that i dont know yet...
also it could just be that i downloaded a bad file from the site that i went to http://www.emuparadise.org/roms were did u go to get ur gba game???

Thanks very very much for helping me out and providing the easy installer (though it did not work 100% at first). There seems to be quite a bit more in their than I thought was needed though but nice to see some pics.
Right, I had already had a bash at this from dark alex instructions via his website. So henC was installed and also Devhook 0.44 for 2.71 and devhook 0.44, I couldnt get it working so used your easier method (could get homebrew not devhook working) got rid of WinRAR as I did not need it and copied everything else (inc devhook and henc) across doing the yes for everything method. HenC locked up! grrr, tried again same thing, one more go, damn. Formated, tried again, red screen and long blue, ooer!.
Finally worked out that maybe my Henc version was slightly diffrent as i remember it did say something like (2) in the file name. And my Henc originally was a straight install and not an upgraded one.
So, re installed my original Hen C over the easy install one you gave and it works fantastic! It is very nice to see that blue wallpaper and oooh! I have something from midway in the UMD but the thing thinks it is Mercury for some reason :D .
Anyway, just wanted to point out you may wish to add, "if you have installed HenC before KEEP your copy of whatever HenC you write first time, you might need it to install over the ones in the easy installer."
PS, Non TA-082 bought yesturday, 2.6 to 2.71 to "2.71HenC" Perfect. Thanks again!

I should add that 26 hours ago I had never even touched a PSP so if I can do it I guess anyone can. Although I did spend ages before buying one reading up about it.
I must be one of the first to see V2.60 on his new (used) PSP and think "YES!!!".

hey gpsp 0.7 with mario kart works splendid it is just that it lags a bit and the sound is crappy.
kondor,it is great that u fixed it yourself though i never had anything like that.
and did any of u guys tried the new drvhook created by chunglam.
it is a lot better.the name is Devhook Launcher/VSHEX Mod 1.63a
with this u can change your
gameboot in your psp
more cpu options
enable henc to 2.71 fw so that u can go to 1.50
add cheats to your game
go back to your original 2.71
swtich to devhook 0.45 or 0.46

so..in order to run isos.... u have to have a garbage umd in ur drive.. ne othr ways to run them w/o using garbage umds>????

I dont think theres another way. The umds are used so Devhook can trick the PSP that the iso your gonna play is a umd (or something close to that).

hey kealvalro i also finaly got the gpsp.07 to work the lag isnt too bad and your right about the sound. do u think there is any way to fix that???

Excellent guide! Just a quick question for anybody that knows...after loading devhook I have two different 2.71 firmware options. One is 2.71 NANDFLASH and the other is 2.71 MS HOOK. Can anybody tell me which one is the one to use?

Actually disregard my last question. Backed up all my data, formatted the mem stick and used the easy installer. Now only one 2.71 firmware option appears. Valkyrie Profile loaded on the first try. Extremely nice and extremely easy. Great work!
