Make sure you have the correct files, try reformating the memory stick and add the HENC and devhook files again. Make sure you back up your photos, music, etc. first.

Thanks i look and i do have a ta-082...now what do i do to fix it...sorry...i'm really new at this i just got my psp a few hours

Well, um, theres not much you can do. TA-082 were made so they cant be downgraded. Soz man, not much you can do but get another one.

neff,i think u can't use ur brick psp,u have to use a new one LOL!!!
update your psp to 2.71.it doesn't matter if your psp is a
Non TA-082 1.5,2.0,2.5,2.6,2.70,2.71 or a
TA-082 1.5,2.0,2.5,2.6,2.70,2.71.
coz this works for both,the only problem is we TA-082 cannot downgrade our firmware yet but maybe in the next few months.but on the otherhand non TA-082 users can downgrade there psp,without a sweat.ok get back to the subject.
ok great and done clownzin,pradines,neff and icaba
download the new ver here:filename is "PSP EASY INSTALLER VER2.rar"

download the file,must format your memory stick then extract the files to your
memory stick meaning when u open your memory stick drive you will see at least the "PSP"
folder.now drag all the files to the memory stick(note:do not drag it in any folder e.g "PSP"folder)
NOTE:if u do not format your memory stick mostly there will be problems so place backup any files
u want and please format your memory stick.and do the steps
don't boot HENC too fast,let the box color turn gray then boot HENC COZ it usually hangs
if u do not wait.ok boot it then the blue screen will pop out and stay for 2 to 3 secs
then it will autoboot.if it freezes then redo it again.at least 3 to 4 times
and if u still do not have any luck in getting in then download HENC from this link:

after that
open henC file
extract "SRC" to your memory stick Main path,overwrite if ask
open MS_ROOT and extract "PSP" to your memory stick Main path,overwrite if ask
open devhook and extract "DH" to your memory stick Main path,overwrite if ask
remember place it straight to your memory stick.
then try again.i hope this will work this time

hey neff ive got to ask u is your psp bricked or is it a ta-082 psp.
coz see if ur psp can boot to umd then that is not brick.
i think u got mixed with the word bricked.
brick for psp is it cannot boot no more or run umd or anything.
so if your psp is a ta-082 and it is bootable and has a firmware range between 1.5 to 2.71 then it is ok

I think he might have a bricked one but then again he didnt give enough info. All he said was his psp doesnt do anythin and he gets a black screen when he turns it on. Btw, he says he does have a ta-082, so there is a chance he did brick it or not. Anyway, neff, tell us what EXACTLY you did. Then we can help you.

hey kealvaro, is your new easy installer version 2 any different from the easy installer you posted before (with henc)?
cause i'm using your old one and it works fine.

hello eveyone.
kealvalro: i have a factory 2.6 TA-082 PSP, and i want to use your guide. i read already this thread and due to a lot of editing, questions, updates, i think i am a little lost (also considering that i am frankly new to this PSP). anyway, considering my PSP, can i use your guide (the very first post) to my 2.6 TA-082? i mean is that the updated guide already? ill just follow it? sorry for a very newbie question.

sssilver nope u do not really need to but some users said that they boot HENC,the blue screen comes up and the psp shuts down so i was trying to fix the problem.but if any of u guys wnat to use the new devhook with more options in it.i am glad to make one.chunglam is the one who made this and i like it more than dark_alex one.
tehjoker funny right some users think u can software fix the psp problem but i think there is no such think yet LOL!!!.maybe in the future.
kpiscasio sure u can use the guide but u have to upgrade your psp to 2.71 ta-082 or non ta-082.but if u do want to take the easy step then get my easy installer at the end of my first post.good luck to your newly PSP,and do not worry coz this will never brick your psp coz it does not write any flash.

kealvalro, i tried to use the easy installer on my psp.. henc runs fine and the psp reboots then i select devhook and it starts. i follow ur instructions and when i hit start in devhook... there is just a black screen and nothing happens :( what should i do ?
my psp serial is psp-1006cw with fm 2.71 and mb TA-082.
please help me out

I downgraded to 1.5...so i think is brick...so now it doesn't do anything the turn on light goes green and thats it..

wizjishnu did u set these settings for devhook:
Target : (reboot XMB)
UMD-SELECT : mso:/iso/your game
UMD-MODE : Image+ANYUMD
FW PATH : mso:/dh/271(MS HOOK)
Remote : remote controller
PL-ADDR : 89200000
neff,it is brick if the light goes green then shut off,you cannot do anything about it unless you bring it to those machanics.and fix it for a big cost,it is best if you buy a new one.anyway why did you downgrade it if yours was a TA-082.they should have mention if it cannot work on a TA-082

kealvalro Just got back from the store..and i got a psp and its not Ta-082..but a v2.71..i'm in korea and gave store dude my psp and $40 and he gave me his psp, 1g..
so i don't need to downgrade and just install "PSP EASY INSTALLER VER2.rar"...can i play Lego StarsWars with this program

neff yes u can do that congrat man.but i think it is better if u downgrade it to 1.50 much better but if u are afraid of bricking the psp then forget it.just use the easy install and read the guide at the end first post.good luck dude.

neff to play iso
place an iso game in the "iso" folder then
boot HENC then it will autoreboot then boot devhook0.4x launcher for 2.71 then when u are in set these settings
Target : (reboot XMB)
UMD-SELECT : mso:/iso/your game
UMD-MODE : Image+ANYUMD
FW PATH : mso:/dh/271(MS HOOK)
Remote : remote controller
PL-ADDR : 89200000
last place a umd game tape in your psp

kealvalro: thanks. i didnt notice that there is that "1st choice" step at the bottom.
By the way, can i play homebrews here or strictly ISO's only? In the case of ISO, do i need to insert a UMD first so i can load my ISO? THanks
