neff u can download umdgen and delete the update folder and compress it to cso.
im sorry guys ive got to go now but i will be back in 2 hours.

i just started the the steps in the guide and im up to step B) 4) and it says to drag "psp" and "dh" onto the memory card, my henb2 doesnt seem to have the dh folder, i dled it again and still no dh folder. it that an error or do i need that dh folder i lack?

sorry but i'm lose again...how does umdgem works..i really don't understant..thanks for the help..if u could show me step by step it would be great..one more question can i erase the other files that are in the stick not the devicehooks but the others..they are taking space on the memory...thanks again..

ok, so i deleted the 2.60 firmware data cause idon´t need cheats or anything, and that's about it. the whole thing now uses around 50 megs. i´m not sure if i have irs shell or whatever but i don´t think i do. thanx

I accidntally presse O during the DEv set-up..
Now when I go in for the devhook .4 launcher
it gives me
"This game could not be started (80020148)"
And the Note: delete the old "HEN" step I never did, because I couldn't find it, so I went through with the steps..and yes the screen turned blue then green..then I got the setup screen but accidentally pressed the O button!
I re-formated the my card and went through the steps again, but it reads the same..:game will not load.
I even went to the Easy Step link, but I coudn't DL, btw...It said something about being too busy or all the whatevers being used up..anyways, I even registered and couln't download..
Pikeys!
Help PLz...

0mnis14sh sorry man i forgot to delete that part.i have just edited it today so it was long but tirering.dh folder is not inside henb 2 at all
neff im sorry but what u want to delete.coz all the files inside PSP easy installer VER2 is needed in your psp,well you can delete the 1.5 firmware if u want.
neff if u want to learn how to rip then i will send u a link

u can delete some of the video in the iso to make it smaller
but do not delete all.
or an easy way for u is to open a new thread asking how to rip an iso.maybe they will give u a good and profound way of doing it.

Every time I hit start in the DEVHOOK0.4X launcher for 2.71 menu the screen turns black and then shuts off. Then I have to turn the psp back on again. I did the whole process 3 time and still get the same results.

alandusj what version firmware is your psp and did u did this on your own or u use the easy installer

This was the first problem I had (not using the easy installer).
First off, maybe I made a mistake because I should have backed up the memory card on my PC before...
just unrar the easy installer and copy it all to the memory card doing overwrite yes to all (except WinRAR folder which you do not need). Then I hit a problem that meant henc was not working (locking up), got the old henc pack I had used before, installed the original Henc i had (overwritting) and the thing worked!
good luck!
PS used the trinagle button on the PSP to delete some of the extra files, some of which showed as corrupt. Not sure if this was a good idea or not but will find out when it needs a hard boot (2days and not needed yet)

kealvalro : thanks for the patience and the effort to help us out.
i am about to try the 1st choice guide now. how will i know that everything is working fine with my PSP? i suppose if ill be able to play an ISO game it means it is working right? but the problem is i dont have any UMD yet. do i need to get one that bad or is there any way i can test the "processed" PSP whether it is working (thru homebrew, ISO, or any?).

It depends, for some isos, you need a umd. I think the only isos that dont need umds are the ones that can run on 1.5 without being updated.

Did you make sure you ran HENC first then devhook 2.71?

tehjoker: i mean, if i did all the steps in kealvalro's guide, is there any game that i can play that would not require any UMD? i cant go into details about loading games with 1.5 emulator, etc cause apparently, i really dont understand it at all, yet (but im getting there).
ok let me put it into my goal's words instead. i just want to play any kind of game without a UMD in my TA-082 2.6 factory PSP. considering i did all the steps, am i ready to play homebrew and ISO?
PS: still cant buy a UMD cause im in Japan right now and i still cant find any english version UMD.

just tested mercury which was in one of those packs, and yes it run on 1.5 without UMD.
hope that helps.
However I noticed that you can see it works with all the other on 1.5, just that it asks you to update and obviously you dont but you can see it works.

Well, I think as long as the iso require a 1.5 to play, you can play it without umd. But mostly all 2.0 or higher games require an umd to play an iso.

my PSP still wont load HENC after 7 tries. Help? im a TA-082 Mobo running 2.71.I have formatted my memorie stick and then but all my files back on and the tried to run HENC.Wont work.HELP
