So excited..This was a piece of cake. I have the Ta-082 with factory 2.71 firmware from Singapore. Got an image of Need for speed most wanted and booted first attempt. Very easy instructions and used the easy installer on a fresh Mem stick (Very important).
Used Devhook for 2.71 and it loaded as soon as I put the umd in (GTA-LCS)and played beautifully. Cant thank the O.P enough for a great guide. I have no clue about PSP and this worked!!! I am sure I will run into problems with some ISO's but I am on the right track and will pour over the threads and guides to get myself up to speed. The salesman at SIM LIM square in Singapore said there was no way I could play ISO's if ever.....(and the price of a 1.5 PSP was hefty) Nice one. This will bring the scene right up there...

I have try everything to get those iso small but i can't..i hear everybody talking about how small they can get..i delete the update file but i don't know which other files to delete..thanks for the help..

Firstly , i would like to thank you for your guide. i thought i had gotten on a condemn ta028 set. now it doesnt seems so bad after all! :)
im sorry as im new too this psp thing. i have read alot but there are too many complicated words and phrases which i dont understand. like iso(i dont know how to run them or where to get them), emulators and stuffs.
i have saw some games available on the torrent network.. but i dont know which kind are suitable..like i got homebrew games working... but how about those nice games like ridge racer, dynasty warrior etc..how do i get those games(in which format) and how to run them?

what about homebrews for 2.71/ if u downgrade to 1.5 can u use all emulators for 1.5. thanks

vaige ISO is an image of the umd that means like u ripped the umd out.same as using a burning tool to make an image.
ok do this find for Azureus,this is mostly used,if u are using a router then it is more complicated but if u are running the internet without the router then download it,install it of course.go to gamestorrents.com and find a game when u open the link u will see a blue button with spanish words right click it and save to where ever you want.when it finish downloading,open then file and it will automatically open Azureus save the file where u want it to then it will download,if it does not download in some other sites that means u need to register from their site first then u can download the files.that why i gave this site instead try it,if u still don't understand then maybe privately giving is no harm.
hagde yes we can play some emulators but not most of them coz currently they only support on 1.5.
dreamer2 of courseif u downgrade to 1.5 then you can use anything that supports 1.5 and everything also,well unless u are saying emulate 1.5.they are just the same.
ok guys i have put the new devhook in the end of my first post but i have also left the old coz if the new one does not work for or you dont like it u can get back the old one

memory stick meaning when u open your memory stick drive you will see at least the "PSP" folder.now drag all the files to the memory stick(note:do not drag it in any folder e.g "PSP"folder)

What's the point of doing that. O_o;;
My apology for this but please spare me I'm not native English speaker and always got owned by the grammar stuff. And I'm afraid of damaging my PSP so much that I will follow every little words written here.

what i am trying to say is that just extract all the files to your root of your memory stick.but some users do not understand the word ROOT coz they though that they have to make a folder call root or ms_root.so i was just trying to explain.
yup u just have to extract all the files to your memorystick root once.good luck

i think i would say the old one coz if u are new in doing this then it would be better to use the old version coz the options are less and there is a tutorial at least
but if u think u can manage the new one then use it

and also ta-082 users can downgrade there psps from 2.71 to 2.5 or 2.6 but i dont see any point as hen c will work on all firmwares but its a start isnt it?

dikk u can hard reset your psp to go back to your original firmware
or you can boot devhook launcher0.4x for 2.71 then just exit devhook and u are done.

Tell me why is my PSP freezing? I go to PHOTO>HENC, my PSP restarts then I go to GAME>Devhook0.4X launcher for 2.71, I put the settings then it freezes. What can I do??

asp2006 did u use the easy installer and extracted everything to your psp or did you do it urself,if u do it yourself maybe u forgot to add either of the firmware u need the emulate the firmwares to boot.
dikk,yes you're rite u have to boot henc everytime u hardreset your psp or exit devhook

Hey, i just bought my PSP 3 days ago and 1c1003 inside the UMD. Will i be able 2 instance the guid or do i need to get a new PSP to make this program work? its a 2.60 and its a TA-082 mother board. Please respond

yeah you can use this just use the easy insatller for this at the begining of this thread eaxtract it to the root of your memorysrick and your good to go mate

Hey guys,
Im getting closer and closer to making this thing work.
I followed the tutorial using the 2nd choice (downloading all the files and copying and pasting here and there), since the easy installer didnt seem to work for me.
everything seems to work great - just as its described... i turn on the psp, go to photo, load up hen, the psp reboots and then i go to the memory stick and run the devook launcher for 2.71 and i get to the menu where u select the iso, etc etc. i select the iso, the FW is selected as dev hook. and everything else looks exactly like the examples given earlier in the posts, but whe ni select start, the screen goes black as if its going to load the game and then the psp just shuts off. when the screen goes black, u can still see the back light on ...it stays on for maybe 20 seconds and then goes totally black - the unit powers off completely . also the memory stick activity led doesnt flash
what am i doing wrong or how can i fix this so i can play the iso's? i have tried 2 diferent iso's (which are in the iso folder)
any help would be really aprpeciated :)

first do not place any UMD inside your psp
do the rest of the henc and devhook thing
in devhook menu set these settings for a try
umd select : any iso game
firmware : 2.71 MS HOOK
cpu : 222/111
remote : 089200000

Thanks for the response kealvalro..
i didnt have any UMD in the psp ...
at the configure screen, this is wat i had selected:
Target: (reboot XMB)
umd select : ms0: /ISO/Scarface - money power respect.iso
UMD mode: Image+ANYUMD
FW path: ms0 /dh/271 (MS HOOK)
clock: 222/111
remote : remote controller
PL-ADDR: 89200000
it also showed -
DH Ver: 0.45.0000
FW ver: 2.07.0110
u thin kchanging the clock of PL-ADDR, that would do anything?

nope it must not be change,so that means all your settings are correct.most probably it must be 2.71 problem again yet again.do what try using the new easyinstller that is chunglam ver it is more better.

i tried that one 1st cuz i didnt wanna screw anything up (even tho every1 tells me i cant screw up with this :) ) and wanted it to work the 1st tim round since it was an "easy installer"....but somehow i musta messed up.
im gonna try the easy installer again and will let u know.
