When I try to change the character set for 2.71, 3.01 or 3.02, my psp freezes.
Is anyone else having this problem??
Is there any way to fix it??

@pho_man placing back the old devhook will let u run 1.50 and other low firmwares.yes u will have teo devhook.nope u do not need mphloader and umdemulator to play iso or homebrew.
@bishop222 i think using WinRAR is better since it supports a lot of files compression but i also rather go for 7.z coz it can compress more tightly.nah u cannot play killzone umd in changing the sfo 2.xx to 2.00 and disabling hen.but what u can do is either emulated 3.00 or 3.01 or 3.02 to play the game.or either extract the game from the umd and use umdgen to fix up the files then play it.
to change the umd sfo version..go to devhook menu then find for "MORE OPTIONS" now u will see the "umd sfo version" click on it and set it to "2.XX to 2.00"
to disable HEN..go to devhook menu then find for ADD-ON MENU" noew u will see "HEN(2.71 only),now click on it and disable it thats it now u can play killzone.but remember to enable hen when u hard-reset ur psp coz u cannot boot homebrews when u disable hen..
@Assa55in,nope i never had a problem when HEND except that it less often freezes.
@kickingk ,great hope u know how to get 3.02 also in..
guys try getting the easy installer if u do not understand how to do it,then just extract it to ur memorystick and try it again.if it does not work then do this go to devhook 0.51 menu.then choose "FLASH INSTALL" then "uninstall dh files from flash1:" then try to flash the files again..
@athrun_c weird i tried it i didn't have any problems.try taking out the umd and change the character set..

@megamen i can tell u that there is a guide in maxcole that is for 1.5 users.coz this thread is for ta-082 users but this works for normal 2.71 psp but that is if u want to update.but i think it is a bad idea to do.so go here and maybe the guide will help u install 0.51 devhook.

Can I emulate firmware 3.01 with devhook on a ta-082 psp? the anwswer was prolly there but i was a little lazy sorry.
My Specs:
AMD Athlon xp 2700+
512 megs pc2700 ddr sdram (I know I need more. LOL)
MSI Nvidia Geforce 5700le
Verbatim DVD+RW
Plextor 740a

hi, does the remote play feature work with using 3.02 with devhook?
I have devhook installed and its using fw 3.02 but I was wondering will i be able to use all the features that come with it? such as remote play and ps1 emulation from the sony store on ps3?

Just a quick question, I've heard that there is a way that you can make hend more stable by replacing it with aaaa.gif (eloader i think) is there any truth in these rumours???

maybe a little of topic but i need help fast please!

my problem is when i connect my psp to my PC using the usb cable i go to my Computer and its there under removable storage, i can just open that and put files in using windows fast and easy!
its the same with my digi camera i can put files in the cams memory card easy with drag and drop!
because that shows as removable storage also.
my problem is when i connect my pocket PC, it shows up as mobile device, (i don't know/remember if it used to show up as mobile device or as removable storage)
but now when i try to drop a file on to the pocket PC memory card Microsoft actisynce pops up and it takes ages,
please help me to get it back to the way it used to be were i can just drop the files on with not using antisync!
if i uninstall antisync when i plug my pocket PC to the PC nothing happens????????????
please come over to my post if u think u can help me!

please guys i beg of you!
i have large files to take to pocket pc,
i need to do it without activesync,
just drag and drop the same way we do it to the psp!
i can put a 800mb+ file on the psp in about 4mins
if i try the same file to pocket pc (to test copy time)
iam talking at least 1 hour or even more by the looks of the speed to copy i get in the first 5mins!
iot will take me all week to copy 8gig

I can't understand one thing. In the third version of easy installer (devhook+chunglam's+easy+installer+V3) what we have to do? Can anyone place here the steps for using this? It´s possible emulate fw 3.01 with this easy installer? Sorry but, as you see, i'm a noob in this stuff.

@passking is ur usb port for pocket pc 1.0 or 2.0.if it is 1.0 then it is slow.sorry i really never had a pocket pc..
@walker09,here u go
1.format ur memorystick(must)
2.extract all the files from devhook chunglam V3 to your memorystick root.
3.boot ur psp>>>boot HEND>>>boot devhook 0.51 beta for 2.71
4.in the devhook menu,go to FLASH INSTALL then choose install configfile to flash1:,over here press and hold O button for 1sec and let go.u will see that it is writting flash to flash1 folder make sure u check each file that is writting has no error on it if it has then redo it again,once the flashing is done.u will be back in devhooks main menu.now click on start and wait.
5.now u will be in a general setup,press HOME to take the devhook menu away first and do the setup.now u can check ur system info if u like.to play iso press on home then move the d-pad left on umd image.the game will change check below to see which game u want to play then place a umd into ur psp and play

I have one problem with devhook 0.51.
I have:
-downloaded the "chunglam's easy installer V3"
-unpack it
-format my memory stick, and copy all file on it
-boot my psp, start HEND with success
-boot devhook 0.51 beta for 2.71
-flash the the 3.01 system like you ask on your guide
But now, I can't start any firmware with devhook 0.51. After booting devhook I choose my firmeware choose to start devhook, I have the message startup devhook ...... system reboot. And now my PSP just shutdown.
I do something wrong ?

Did you dump firmware 3.02 using PSAR Dumper and put it into ms0:/dh/302? If not then thats the problem.

I'm sorry to bother you, it's necessary to do those steps to play(I've downloaded Ridge Racer 2 and still can't play the game) or is necessary only to upgrade fw, if knot what configs must i choose? I know it's a dumb question.
BTW thank you for easy installer V3.

Hey guys I'm trying to make up my own EASY INSTALLER - with everything i need.
Just a cuple of questions:
- after copying the last devhook how can I add the older one?
- where can i find the WIFI upgrade? what is it?
I also had some problems running 3.01.. the psp often crashes when i try to load games or try to quit (using the home button..)
Can you help me??

Thanks for the great advice and effort to help. Especially Kealvalro.
I'm having the same problem, followed the instructions using the easy installer. So even if I used the easy installer, i need to get the fw 3.02 dump using PSAR Dumper and put it in the mem stick before trying to flash? Why didn't Keal include that in the directions, or put it in the easy installer package already? Just trying to confirm that i should do that. Thanks

Can you change you character set for 3.02 to traditonal chinese and copy me the f1 from dh??If you don't mind...
