It probably had "Press any button to return" on the screen but it was among heaps of other stuff so you didnt notice :)
What do you mean? You don't have to flash it again, just follow the rest of the guide.
@xupal- Which cheat device do you want? You can download the VCS Cheat Device from here: http://www.cheatdevice.com/gta/VCSCheatDevice22.zip
Extract the zip file and just plug in your PSP and then run CheatDeviceInstall.exe
If you want LCS cheat device, get it from here:
http://www.cheatdevice.com/gta/CheatDevice10dPRX.zip
Then extract it and read the readme to find the instructions on installing.

Whats the point of putting back the old devhook folders back in?
Can't emulating FW 3.01 play all games including ones I did with 2.71?

The new DevHook can only emulate firmware 2.71 and above. You need the old DevHook to emulate 1.5 in order to run homebrew that doesn't work with HEND.

like i press home for 3 seconds and then the little menu comes up and when i click add-on menu none of the things in there will enable so how do i do that? it has things like mp3 player cheat master cw cheat cheat device but it all says disabled so how do i enable it?

finally got ff7 to work but its extremely slow. I thought this was supposed to be playable. I tweaked speed settings and its still slow. Am I doing something wrong?

sup fellas i remember u saying somthing in the tutorial about the ".tiff" file being unstable. thats y when u go to "photo" then the "hend" folder in the PSP menu it doesnt allways work. well for me thats saying a mouth full because 9 times out of 10 ill try the "hend" boot trick and it doesnt work. now i know u said that dark_alex was working on fixing that but do u know of a way to maybe get it to work a little better? because now that we are useing 3.02 and cant exit without hard reseting we are going to be using the "hend" boot trick alot more often ya know... just wondering

@panther - the only thing i can tell you is to hard reboot your PSP when the HEND doesn't work the first time.. and wait a couple of seconds standing on the HEND folder before clicking on it.

PS - i tried the guide to fix the devhook that crashes when exiting from the games.. but it doesnt work.. the FW won't load. I had to re-put he backup file.. any suggestions??

3 fast questions:
1) Can we play .dax? If not, Could we use something else to play it with 3.02?
2) Are there any news about the crash when you exit from umd games?
3) Could someone explain me the difference between iso/cso/dax? (how works the compression? what do we lose?)
EDIT - another 1 question:
4) Could we use some program with 3.02 without go to 1.50?

Excellent Guide..i was able to run games
One problem is that the firmware gets back to 2.71..any idea why?
So i have to run devhook everytime it changes back.

Hi all, I have spent hours reading through all the posts and still no answers to my problem. Yes I am a total newb and it's probably all my fault but please help!!
I have a new psp fw2.60, I ran the easy installer step by step, I updated the fw to v2.71, and everything ran fine at first. I ran the hend and the pars and was in fw1.50 emulation, got to the step that says to shut off the machine and turn it back on. Of course it comes back up to the 2.71fw, and I can't get hend to run again. When I try usually the psp just locks, sometimes I get a blue screen and immediate reboot and it comes back up in 2.71fw. I tried to run the devhook anyway and of course it says unable to start the game. Please help!! I've tried to run the hend about 25ish times now and still either locks or blue/quick reboot and back to 2.71fw. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance, I am not sure why I need the 3.02 anyways, but doesn't matter since can't get it back in 1.50. I am soooooo confused.

@kweasye...hi i'm also an newb when it comes to the psp...i have a ceramic white psp on 2.71 fw TA-082...what i did was follow the instructions on the first thread...choose the 1st choice...works perfectly for me...first up install hend...copy all the files in the MS_ROOT folder to the root of ur memstick...then go back to hend.rar and open the file devhook...move dh folder to the root of ur memstick...then do letters C to F. when you reboot ur psp go to images and the hend folder count about 5 secs then open the folder...should work perfectly...enjoy

Keal help...the K installer takes up alot of memstick space...i've already deleted some images and gameboots but its still eating up space...what other files can i take out that wont affect the 3.02 emulation and second question is...i almost had a heart attack when i saw the press "O" at the back ground for system recovery...then i pressed something and it let me enter the system info like time and date and nick...is that normal?

@zeridos .dax does not work for us in chunglam mod.but i am not sure for devhook 0.51.
crash on exiting on games yes there is for some users here,but how come i dont have this exiting problem???.
the third question i am not sure how to answer u iso is the stardard format for all image making usually use
for burning cd or dvd.though for psp this does not need to burn.cso is a compress format of the iso but the
problem is some games slows down when doing this.dax i dont know coz i dont use it or like it!!

kweasye try putting a background image in your original firmware and then boot hend,though remember to wait for HEND box to fully cover up its shadow inside before pressing it..
u need 3.02 to play higher firmware games like MGS portable ops...and more.coz the coming games that are going to be release these days must be using 3.0X firmware to play them..
die_noi think your hardware crash.did u flash some files except the one in devhook.coz we ta-082 cannot use any other flashing files warning do not use any flash program in your TA-082 except the on in devhook 0.51
the things u can delete are in the memory stick:
dh\covers delete the files inside that is named covers.cso it is about 33-34MB but the bad part
on deleting this,is when u change your game in XMB u will not see it change on the right side of the screen.
dh\gameboot delete the gameboots or u can delete them all,it is all around 11-12MB but deleting it all will just make u have a single gameboot.but this is all up to u

just like to say thanks to all involved for the devhook 'k' easy install. i am new to psp and i am still lost. just to much info.
ive been reading/searching forum after forum for about 2 weeks now, trying to soak all this info in, before posting a question. with all the different devhook versions and easy installs by different people my head is spinning..
i have a 2 week old psp with fw2.71 and ta-082
i used the devhook k easy install from first page. i followed it exactly to the letter, it worked!! first time, np.. i loaded an iso, played it for a while and exited. np. then i swithed to killzone umd i bought and that ran with np as well. only when i exited the game [umd disk not an iso] it crashed and i was returned to my orig 2.71.
my questions are how do i do it again? i followed the steps again but for some reson it hangs up at the end of step 6 when i start DEVHOOK Launcher VAHEX Mod. psp is on i can hear it scrolling left to right thru the menu but the screen is black. cant see what i am doing. did i miss something? only thing i can do is hard reset back to my orig 2.71.
once ive used the devhook k easy install the first time, how do i do it again?
i apologize for the long post my head is going to explode, i thought i had it all working till exiting a umd crashed, and brought me back to 2.71.
any help is much appreciated..thanks for the time

thanks kealvalro, because of your guide I can play homebrew, emulators and I finally got the ISO's to work! :P I saw your Bleach thing that you put on 150 dh, so I recommend Naruto (Japanese version). It's a great anime! You can download it at www.gotwoot.net or you can just watch it on youtube.com. Well, thanks for your guide!
My PSP Firmware History: 2.60 had to return the PSP because it had a dead pixel > new PSP had firmware 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 > 3.71 M33 with 1.50 kernel

What if you replace the whole f1 folder?
BTW did you change your 3.02 to traditional chinese or simplified before you copied the system files to the other psp??

Please HELP!!
Dear Community...
I am new to PSPS, so I will give you a rundown of where I am at. I bought a 2.60 with our favorite MB in it. I updated to 2.71. For a short time I was using Devhook 4.XX and I could play a few isos. Recently I wanted to update to 3.01 so I could play Marvel Ultimare Alliance. I have followed the guide on this site to a T, and have spent approx 10 hours trying different things, and hitting the message boards, and I do not know what to do.
When I follow the guide for emulating 3.02 things seem to go fine. I can boot HEND about 67% of the time, I got to 1.5 with no issues, and then ran the PSARDumper. (I am using the Devhook+k easy installer). I Cut folder F0, and I paste in kd/302 on the root of the memory stick. I can then boot into DeviceHook and I choose the settings, I select to flash which seems to go fine, and when I choose Start in Devhook it takes me to a black screen with some white writing, but instead of rebooting I get a black screen (backlit) for about 7 seconds and then it turns off. When I turn it back on I am back in 2.71. I have tried changing the boot from DevHook Menu to XMB, but that does not help either. I have also attempted to Flash the files and then exit Device Hook, I then activated the USB to see what was in F1 after I did the flash. The folder was completely empty. Is that supposed to happen, or should it have something in it? No folders, no files, just an empty folder. I also made sure there was a reboot file in F0. I really have no idea what I am doing wrong. Please help.
