@amitmoyou don't have to flash the whole thing again. when you hard boot you return to 2.71 then run hend again coz when you hard boot your hend also diactivates. after running hend you just go to devhook 0.51 for 2.71 and run the same settings as you did after the flash. if you followed keal's guide you'll have the same settings as before you hard boot. just go to devhook 0.51 and start it. you'll be in 3.02 in no time.

edit...you were emulating 3.01..sorry...upgrade to 3.02 it's much better....

@pho_mansorry dude...haven't experienced that problem yet...my wallpaper stays the same when im on 2.71 and my different wallpaper when i'm at 3.02. coz i changed it so i can tell if i'm on 2.71 or 3.02.

Proud owner of a Sony PSP TA-082 motherboard running on 2.71 FW HEN-D and Devhook .046 and Devhook 0.51 for 2.71 now emulating 3.02 FIRMWARE.

Hello guys and gals,

I've just bought my Sony PSP today and i was happy to see it had a 2.71 software on it (my friend recommended me to get one with 2.71).. After reading through some guids, i saw that the IC3001 has problems being downgraded and the like...

I also have a IC6001 on the left side, and a IC3001 on the right side...

I'm pretty darn new to this emulation thing, and all the upgrades and downgrades kinda made my head spin after 50 pages... It would be great if you could answer a fairly easy question..

As i said, i have 2.71 and an Ic3001 motherboard. Is it possible for me to play games that i download onto my USB stick? (Download from the interweb~) Since ive heard that i need to downgrade my firmware to 1.5 to be able to do this. Is this true?

If so, would you please be so kind in providing me a link with the files needed (as easy as possible/easy installers etc) to make this work?

Thanks a lot for your precious time, and keep up the great work :).

Cheers

Fabian

hey everybody.
i bought my ta-082 a week ago and I LOVE IT!!
i'm currently running alex devhook to be able to:

1. emulate 1.50 to run homebrew stuff and..
2. run iso-backups from my memorystick

everything works perfect! even gta lcs through emulated 1.50 and MPG Gameloader.

the only bad thing is i have to hard reset my psp every time i want to go back to 2.71... it seems like you all are using another emulation prg? or a mod on top? how does it work? do you still have to hard reset to switch between the two? should i change using the easy installer? i'm afraid to do anything to my lovely psp now that it's working great but it would be nice to not have to hard reset all the time..

it's been great to read all your posts and i hope someone has the time to answer my first post too.

/regards,
klas

@kealvalro
Have you found time to tried the character set thingy yet?
Did replacing the whole f1 folder work?

Sorry for being impatient but i am really, really eager to get it working...this is the only problem i have...

Thanks a lot!

@watever1- Yeah you place the ISO files in X:\ISO\ (where X is the drive letter of your PSP).

@alaa_sdk- To run firmware 3.02 in DevHook just dump the firmware 3.02 DATA.PSAR using PSAR Dumper. Then put the 3.02 f0 file into X:\dh\301\. Now instead of firmware 3.01, firmware 3.02 will load when you start DevHook. However if you want to have different options for both firmware 3.01 and 3.02 you will have to edit a txt file in: X:\dh\05beta\menu\ (where X is the drive letter of your PSP).

You dont really need to emulate 3.02. The only difference between 3.01 and 3.02 is that Sony have added some security.

@banaaan- No you dont need firmware 1.5 to play ISOs. You can also play ISOs on firmware 2.71. Just follow the guide on the first page of this thread :) (scroll down to the "2.71 ta-082 only 3.01 emulation" section).

@bklas- To go back to firmware 2.71 without hard resetting, when you are in the emulated 3.02 XMB, press HOME. Then a menu should show up, now go to "Exit DevHook" and select "yes". Then you will go back to firmware 2.71.

First of all, you are not actually overclocking the PSP. The PSP is underclocked. Plus increasing the speed to 266/133 (thats 266 MHz for main CPU and 133 MHz for graphics processor) doesn't decrease your battery life by alot.

wow eternalis, that was quick!

so... if i format my memorystick and install this new version i can go between emulated 3.X and my original 2.71 without hard reset. but if i want to run my 1.5 homebrews..? do i install my old devhook on top of it?

what i really would love is switching between 1.50 and 2.71 without hard reset. 3.X sounds interesting but at this moment i don't need it. i guess with newer games i ev will but not now i guess.

so.. can i switch between 1.50 and 2.71 without hard reset?

Yeah, with this new DevHook you can go back to 2.71 by pressing HOME and then selecting Exit DevHook, while in the emulated 3.02.

You will have to put the old DevHook on your PSP to emulate 1.5 and run homebrew because DevHook 0.51 only emulates firmware 2.71 and above.

If you have the new DevHook and go into emulated 3.02, in order to go to firmware 1.5 you have to exit DevHook through the menu (no hard reset) and then you have to start the old DevHook and emulate 1.5.

but then.. when i'm in 1.50 and want to go back to 2.71 i have to hard reset.. right? or am i missing something? that's my biggest issue right now. i love the fact that everything's working so great, it's just that i don't like hard resetting it every day when i go from 1.50 to 2.71...

ok thanks for the info,

I got one more question
In the devhook .51 menu cpu clock was set to default, is that 222/111 or 266/133mhz?

@bklas- Yeah you do because you have to use the old DevHook for that one. I'm not sure but the launcher mod may allow you to go back to 2.71 without a hard reset.

@rizen- I'm not sure what the default is. But I think its the one you choose in the main menu of DevHook- the one you see when you start it up.

To install the launcher mod check the first page of this thread. Then follow all the steps under the "1ST_CHOICE" section.

I have to say that the SNES emulator is pretty useless because all the games I tried are very slow, even changing the settings.. The emulator is GREAT (well programmed) but not very optimized..
Anyway.. it's great to see how kealvalro tests new homebrews for us! THANKS man!

yes, i saw the guide and i've downloaded everything. i'm just afraid to touch my psp now that it's working. are there games and things that will not work when using this mod? or any disadvantages? or is it simply the best solution out there?

sorry for being so careful but i just love playing on my psp...

@JacoPOP-Have you tried changing the clock speed to 333/166? This should stop the emulator from lagging.

@bklas- No the launcher mod is the best solution if you are running the old DevHook 0.4X, so install it! :)
