Alrite! thanks again for the great guide - just ran into a bit of a bump.

After succesfully doing this...

11.Open "DH",

A)Find and open the folder "302".now "right-click" on this folder and "PASTE",then go back once.
B)Move the folder "150" and "271" to the folder here called "place back"
NOTE:If it ask to "OVERWRITE or REPLACE",click "Yes to All" and wait till it finish

I come to the next point:

12.Back to your PSP,Hold the POWER button for 3-5secs then start it again. Now go to the "PHOTO" viewer of the XMB and enter in the folder "HEND" again.it will autoboot then "DEVHOOK0.51 BETA for 2.71"

I turned off the PSP, and started it again. When going into Photo -> HEND, it sometimes hangs (as told before) and sometimes i get a blue screen, and keeps blue, and then turns itself off without opening the DEVHOOKO.51 BETA for 2.71".

At this time im in 2.71 software version.

I am pretty sure i followed the guide by the letter - any idea what the problem could be?

Cheers

Make sure that you don't have a UMD inserted. When you start HEND it should reboot your PSP not turn it off. Then you have to go to GAME-->Memory Stick and then run DevHook 0.51 BETA.

After running Photo -> BLUE SCREEN -> turn on PSP -> GAME -> DEVHOOK 0.51 beta, i get this error message:

"This game could not be started (80020148)" :E.

I checked back if the 150 and 271 folders are in place, as well as the f0 and they are. That the PSP doesnt reboot (instead of just turning off as its doing now) kinda scares me a bit :E.

Any IM or Skype or anything up and running at the mastermind's place? :)

after the blue screen did it automatically reset or did you have to turn it on yourself ??

If you had to turn it on yourself that means HenD wasnt installed properly. ONce it goes blue then auto reset, only the you can go to GAME >> then dev 0.51

After the blue screen it turns itself off.

How would you recommend me to reinstall HEND?

Cheers :)

iam assuming this is your very first falsh so thi tried and tested method should work for you.

ensure that you have enabled wallpaper under system settings

when the psp is on move to photo and there should be a folder called hend (if installed properly, otherwise just download the latest easy installer from Kel)

wait for the screen to turn grey !!! only then you press start button

it should go blue then green then reset

*thats what you need to do when you are flashing it for the first time. thereafter any other hard reboots, you dont need to wait for the grey screen and you can just click on O or X (depending no your psp region)

when it auto boots that means you have HenD installed > then go to game and start devhook

wow..this scared me ...

AFter turning on wallpaper i got to the devhook menu. Put everything in there as said at:
"14.Go to "FLASH INSTALL".now read and do this carefully,in here Choose "install configfile to flash1:.after that u again will be in a dos mode lookalike.now over here press and hold the "O" button for 1secs and u will see it saving files"

After it said it couldnt find some files, and pressing O to continue, i thought all was well.. I went on with point 15:

15.Now Click on start and wait.for about 5-15secs it depends on your memorystick speed, now u will be in 3.02. Press "HOME" button to take off the devhook menu.and do the firmware settings then go check your check you "system information" in system settings".

After i pressed start, it didnt really save anything and rebooted, came to a screen that my thingy was damaged and i was ready to cry..haha... Luckily it reverted to my older settings (i think) and at least..its still working (i think :))...

This was scary... :P..

Should i delete the whole memory stick again and start over with the whole deal? (since im not sure to what point i got resetted to (prolly factory defaults)

If someone would, add me to MSN / Skype :)...

edit:
Just checked my system information, and im running 3.02 software O.O... Did everything...work correctly? Im kinda confused now where i am at - should i continue frmo here? or reset all and start over again?

edit2: (i should learn to complete my post before i am actaully done)... Anyhoo..i pressed the HOME button, and i did get a Devhook menu up. It looks as followed:

UMD Image: UMD Disc
CPU Clock: 222/111

UMD SFO VER: force 2.00
Menu on BOOT: ON
PRELOAD ADDR: 89200000
FIRMWARE: not supported
REMOTE PORT: not supported

you should try the easy installer (HenD, devhook .46, FW 2.71) first before moving on to flash your psp for FW 3.01 or 3.01

emulating 3.01 or 3.02 is slightly more complicated than the easy installer. at least if you use the easy installer you might get a feel of what is actually happening before moving on to the hard stuff and flashing the psp yourself.

the guide on the first page of the thread works perfectly when you follow it closely. it took me three times but it definitely works

Myeah..that would be plan :)...

I'm just curious, with the last edit in my previous post - is everything (as it looks like) working as it should?

Because if it does work, im pretty much done i think.

The not supported things in the devhook menu scares me a little bit though.

I am using the 13.dec released Devhook "K" easy installer at the moment though.

Alrite.. Here's what i did :):

After being unsure what i did with the first attempt, i resetted it, and formatted my memory again. Started over and within 15mins i was playing Formula 1. I was laughing of joy and all. I've read quite a few posts about people losing their emulation(??)/settings(??) when turning off and on their PSP.

After i turned my PSP on and off, it autoloaded my Demo UMD (That i need to have inside to run a iso), i tried to exit it and it was japanese/korean text. After a try or two, i got out of it and ended up at the "select time and date" section. As if it resetted itself.

I check my software version info too and it was 2.71, whilst it should be 3.02.

I cannot open my DevHook either by pressing "home" button right now.

My question is: Is there a way to work around having to reinstall everytime i turn off my PSP? Can i just run a specific devhook program from the game section? Do i need to do something different than the guide told me to do?

Thanks again guys - you guys really are doign an awesome job for this community.. Wish i could bring down my slim knowledge to people someday :).

edit: i actually found out by myself! woohoooo!!! Bit sad that i have to emulate and all that stuff again after every hardboot :).. But hey, thats the price we pay i guess :D..

Thanks again!

Fabian

you dont have to reinstall everything when you hard boot. the only thing you need to do is re-run henD and devhook to emulate th FW you want.

follow the guide again as it seems that you are missing a few steps

First, thanks for the excellent tutorial, i got v1.5 working fine, and then got 3.01 emulator working fine. But now i have a .cso game (a backup of course ;) ), and thats where the tutorial seems to leave off. I've read around a lot, and placed my .cso file in an "ISO" folder in the root of my memory stick. Now when i run devhook .51, i select umd -> "File Emulation" -> "mygame.cso". Then i select firmware -> "3.01", then etc. Then i select "Start Devhook", and it seems as if everything works just fine. My psp says its now running v3.01, and now im not sure what to do. The game wont start up automatically, and theres no where to select it. Am i supposed to create an EPBoot.pb file in the Game/Mygame directory, or am i missing a file, or... I'm just not sure. I've also tried a few other things, like booting up in the different flash fw versions, ive tried it with and without an actual umd game in the psp. Any suggestions?

Once you are in emulated 3.01, insert a UMD (any UMD will work) and go to GAME-->UMD and your ISO will load instead of the UMD.

alright well now the game loads up fine as in it can get to the like advertisement pages fine, but when it gets to the page where it says "Loading, please wait. Do not open the disc cover." It sits there for a while and then it does either one of two things. Either it does a hard reset, and i have to run through Hend and DH again, or it gives me the error "The game could not be started. (80020148)" Anyway around this?

Also, Eternalis and/or mods, imo it wouldn't be a bad idea to add the: "What to do after hardboot" part into the guide. Would prolly save quite some questions from people and keep the thread a *bit* cleaner :).

Great job guys!

its called "[cX].{PSP}.Star.Wars.Lethal.Alliance.EUR.{Ganja}" could be corrupt for all i know, only thing that leads me to believe that it isnt though is that it gets all the way to loading screen. Also, im downloading another iso right now, should be done in a few minutes, i'll try it to see if my star wars iso is just corrupt.

No games can still be corrupt, even if they get to the loading screen. Did you download it using a torrent from a torrent site? If so, check the comments for the torrent and see if people have got it to work.

im downloading using torrents right now, but i usually use IRC to get most of my files, which is where it came from. The game is relatively new, and i just found that supposedly it doesnt work with hybrid psps (using emulated fw's) so that could be my problem. Anyways, ive almost got another iso to try so i'll post back in a few minutes.
