k so my friend just told me that you can physically downgrade your psp to 1.5 fw (ta-082 running fw 2.71 psp) but my question is, if I do that how do i go about emulating 3.02 without bricking the psp? can anyone help?

mobo is a short form of the word "motherboard"
@sidmax, you will have to downgrade your psp to fw 1.5 then you can upgrade to 3.02 oe. or you can emulate 3.02 using devhook

yo guys...i got a Serious problem. i will go into as much detal as i can..but i sure hope someone can help me.
Apairently my mobo is a TA-086 as i have been told.
i have Vesrion 2.71 installed. and i have the numbers in gold in the rear UMD slot as follows
LEFT RIGHT
ICB001 IC1003
this is just what i have been told in another forum post.
now weather or not this is correct...i have no idea..
all i know is that i had DevHook v.4x ? with HENC
now i had playing ISO files perfectly for the past month...
2day (or rather 2nite) i decided out of sheer bordum to update to Devicehook 0.51 with HEND
i did all the thing in this list in order (via the download with extractor) and folled everything fine.. right up untill going to 3.02 FW and back to home.
it give me a blue background with i think 12 different languages. Dutch, German, English, Jap, Chineese, French, Spanish, korean, Italtian, russian, and Portaguese
the english wording goes as follows.
"Setting information is corrupted. Press the O button to repair and restore default settings.
now when i press the O button, it goes black, and hangs, and the memory loads frantically.
it restarts the PSP, and brings be back to the inital setup.. like setting the date..time zone etc.
i;ve never had this problem with the old version of HENC+Devhook.
im wondering..did i do somehting improper to my mobo :S help would GREATLY be appricated.
btw.. the psp works fine with out any emulation .
gah please help.. i hope i didnt fuck up my PSP :(
PSP -> 2.60 TA-082 + 2.71 - 1.5 + 3.03 OE-A + OE-B + OE-C + 3.52 M33 - 3.40 OE-A + 3.52 M33-4 + 3.71 M33-4 + 4.01 M33-2 w/ 1.50 k = dropped 1ft and lost my PSP permanently

The blue screen with the languages happened to me too. But for me, after a while the screens went away. After 3 or 4 encounters or so the blue screen should go away. When it appears just press circle.
EDIT: Whoops, I didn't read all of your posts. When I pressed circle, afterwards I was able to emulate 3.02. I didn't go black and hang.
My PSP Firmware History: 2.60 had to return the PSP because it had a dead pixel > new PSP had firmware 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 > 3.71 M33 with 1.50 kernel

XMB- cross Menu Bar. the interface you see on the PSP that let you select photos, music, games, etc.
BSOD- Blue Screen Of Death. when the psp displays a completely blue screen and nothing else. sometimes you can just hard reset to get rid of it. other times, it means that you semi-bricked your psp.

Currently its not possible to downgrade a 2.80 TA-082 PSP. The downgrader only works for normal 2.80 PSPs.
By the way just downgraded my PSP fully to 1.5 and so another CONFIRMATION that the downgrader does indeed WORKS! another amazing job well done by DAX.
Hey, I have a friend who has a non ta-082 PSP. It was originally on 1.5, but he upgraded to 2.8 a little while ago. He's interested in getting into the homebrew scene. Any know know of a link to the 2.8 downgrader for non ta-082 mobo's?

Hey guys! I have a question...
I have a TA-082 PSP with 2.71fw...
When installing Devhook 0.51 to emulate 3.01-3.02 I couldn't flash the config files(f1)...
Would that affect me when downgrading to 1.5 using the TA-082 Downgrader?? Would it cause a brick??

3.02 OE-B is the better of all firmware (Customs), but I and many have encountered a flaw.....and the flaw is this....
When you first attach the PSP to the PC, you get a 'PSP Type B'Found on the other version of FW...not on the 3.02 oe-b version.
You will get a 'USB Drive' Found instead... Causing a problem with trying to connect via USB to say, play your ISOs via USB. It won't read the drivers properly for USBHOSTFS. Bummer (Yeah, your PSP can be read by usb via drive-- of course). But anyway, for those wanting to play ISOs via USB, don't upgrade to 3.02oe-b until there is a fix.

I Don't know if this was supposed to help or not
but i was trying to grab the attention of the so called smart PSP d00ds.. it seems as if they;ve wanderd away to abandon us all.
any help.. any at all? maybe i should just got back to my old dev hook :(

DJchemist, hey if the problem is you trying to downgrade to fw 1.5 heres your solution just follow this guide right here lots have tried to help me but this guy is what finally got me to do it right. hope its wat you needed http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/442202
just follow the YOUTUBE videos there is 2 parts. believe me hes doing it right. mine works fine.

Unfortunatly my friend, i don;t have a TA-082 mother board... i think mines a TA-086, but thank you for your help. had i had a TA-082, i would be giving u a hug tho lol
