There's no way for HEND or Devhook to brick your PSP. Though if you try to use a downgrader, there's a chance you'll brick it. So until they create a program that prevents bricks, I won't try a downgrader.
My PSP Firmware History: 2.60 had to return the PSP because it had a dead pixel > new PSP had firmware 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 > 3.71 M33 with 1.50 kernel

I'm currently running 3.02 OE-B... yeah i'm worried to upgrade to 3.03 OE-B but as far as things goes, as long as you reformat your stick and do everything step by step you should be fine. Its great to have custom FW btw.

hey im a bit confused. you say:
2.open "henD" with WinRAR then inside you will see 3 folders and 2 files,open the folder called "MS_ROOT" then move all the files here straight to your memorystick root.
But what about the DH folder?
In ure 4th step u talk about putting the dump in ure DH folder. You never had us put the DH from Hen D into the memory stick. DO we not need to do this?

Well you have 2 choices to downgrade your 2.71 ta-082 psp, the firste one is the manual method, and the second one is with the easy installer. But be very careful and read all "read me" file inside all package. Be sur to have a good formated memory stick and charge your PSP.

You may or may not get the blue corruption screen, that screen scared the crap out of me several times, but its nothing, just hit o if they give you that screen, apparently its normal. Your psp shouldn't brick if you read everything carefully, i read everything twice before doing it. But again custom firmware is great!!! :) thats the only reason why this thread with chunglam's devhook is dying and just converting over to downgrading.

Yes you have to do it in step B-4
"4.go back,open devhook and move "dh" to your "memorystick" that
means when u open ur memorystick drive from computer(just drag it to that place),(if ask to overwrite,click yes)."

Thx Lux209 I appreciate it! So if i follow one of the guides u linked me to, i will be able to run custom firmware off the memory stick and still have 1.5 FW if i dont use the mem stick right?

No not exactly you after the downgrade and upgrade you will have the custom firmware from dark alex, that mean you will have the 3.02 or 3.03 firmware directly installed on your psp (without the mem stick) and this firmware allow you to run homebrew, iso game and more. It's like if you have the 3.03 and the 1.5 firmware in one custom firmware..

BTW: I am trying to run Devhook .51 and only following your instructions for it!

ok I did't see you try to emulate the 3.02 firmware, no for this you don't have the move the dh folder. just format your mem stick and move all file in the MS_Root. For the next step you can jsut create the folder dh\150 in your mem stick and copy the 1.5 dump

i did all that, Hen D still wont work while PSP is plugged into AC adaptor. When not plugged in, works fine. Should I follow the guide without it plugged in and just 75%+ battery life?

It's strange mine work with an without ac adaptor, but if your only work without, yes just do it with at least 75% battery

is there any chance of someone who has a 2.71 version of the psp with a full working programs on there memory card that they can put into a rar or zip file and upload here so others can just download and put on there memory cards ?

My Hen D does not work with the adaptor in, Can i just start the entire guide Without the AC adaptor and just make sure i have 100% battey life? Thanks!

No! After you've done the steps, you just have to go to Devhook .51, set the settings, then press start and then wait and you'll be emulating 3.02!

Yea u need to Im afraid unless u use that custom firmware that Lux209 linked above.
Btw, off topic, I've been trying to play Vice City Stories (and I've tried 3 different ISOs) but its always choppy. When I clock it to 333 its much better but there is still some choppiness there in the game. Can anyone help?

Okay i have 1 person saying i need to do it everytime and one person saying i dont. Should i just do it everytime just to be safe? Or is that harmful?
(talking about holding the O button for 1 second for the red/white text)

You only need to reflash the files again (the O circle thing) if Devhook doesn't load, it says on the first page,[qoute=kealvalro]then click on "start devhook",and wait
choose english and the rest is up to u.
if 3.02 does not boot then just reflash the files again[/quote] Trust me you don't have to do the reflashing again after unless Devhook doesn't emulate the firmware after you press Start.

Well, I think you can do this procedure without the ac adaptor, but I'm not sur.. It's better if you can ask Kealvarlo, I saw you have a thread with him..

hey guys it's been way long.well been study alot of 3ds max 9,torque game builder and photoshop.but i just cam here today to tell u guys i made the faqs for downgrading to 1.50 and updating to 3.03 OE-a than B.plus i also added how to compress and change ps game for the psp and play them too
i also added a easy downgrader to 1.50 and upgrader to 3.03OE-A than B.feel free to sniff around.
well about the ac adaptor u do not really need to attach it.but u better have more than 30% of battery.so that nothing on earth gets wrong.well good luck guys i gotta go now.be back tomorrow
