I updated my psp (bought it from Target today, a 2.71 TA-082) successfully to 3.03 oe-A'. What is the difference between 3.03 oe-A', oe-b and oe-c? Can I upgrade from 3.03 oe-A' to oe-c directly or I have to upgrade to B first?
I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping I'll get the credit back for the brick psp I sent back to sony. Does Sony has any way to tell if I did brick it myself? If they're going to deny my claim, what prove do they have saying I messed with the firmware? Can I use the argument that during a regular game firmware update, the psp freezed and bricked?

i have a TA_082 running 2.71 i've tried installing HEND and devhook as chice 1.
I went through the proceess of trying to install US 2.71 as instructed but as i already have 2.71 the psp would let me as i've already got it.
I carried o through the rest of the process got to my first boot and keep trying ( must have tried 50 times) one time did get blue screen ( as i do every time ) then white screen with a sort of grey camera in the centre this locked for a while so i restarted. Treid to run devhook launcher got psp screen and got @game could not be started (80020148).
Went back to trying first boot keep getting blue screen and shutdown.
can anybody help, please.
i shouldnt have UMB disk in the psp should i when i do the first boot
I can do this with a TA-082 and 2.71 factory cant i
Please please help im loosing the will to live

daihung u can run 3.03 OE-C in any 3.03 OE-A or A' or B but if u are using my easy installer just grab the two folders 303oeflasher and 303oeflasher% and place it in X:\PSP\GAME150.
note:X is the drive letter coz i do not know yours lol...
once done run homebrew 3.03 OE-C install and accept the follow and wait till it finishes.then it will boot to a blue screen with wotds press O and it will go to the personal info setup.do it and u are done

DO I need to take out the UMD before going with the 2.71 TA-082 (2nd choice easy procedure, the one with the 70mb file) procedure?
I am asking this because I have a broken eject button and cannot take out the UMD.

Hi, I've read a lot of threads for research already, but I still like to make absolutely sure of some things. Please help, thanks guys!
1. The point of installing HEN-D on a 2.71 TA-082 is to allow homebrew so you can run 1.50 downgrade, right?
2. Can I go from 1.50 straight to 3.03 OE-C or do I need to install 3.03 OE-A or OE-B first?
3. When DA releases 3.03 OE-D or whatever after OE-C, do I need to use recovery to go back to 1.50 first to install the new FW or can I just upgrade from OE-C?
4. I know 3.03 OE-C is like 1.50 with the perks of 3.03 (so it can run homebrew), but is it less compatible with them than 1.50? I think people say use 1.50 kernel and the homebrew will be compatible. Does this work well? (Just making sure if OE-C is as homebrew compatible as 1.50, cause I've read things like X-Flash or IRShell doesn't work with OE-C?)

It's a Sony Visa credit card. You get points when you buy stuff with it. Each dollar you used on the card give you one point. The PSP is equiv. to 26,000 that's about $260 for the core system. I called Sony and told that that the PSP doesn't work anymore and they told me to send it back to them and have the points return to me. I hope they are not going to check to see if I mess with the firmware. They told me I can also go to a local store and use the Sony credit card to buy the PSP and thend fill out a form and send the form along with the receipt to get the money back and get the reward points deducted again. However, I'm starting to think that this credit card is not worth using because I've been using for like 3 years to saved enought to get approximately 2 psp worth of points.
For the 3.03 oe-C update, just replace the two folders in the easy installer and run the update and I'll have the new firmware right? Thanks

hey vampiro,nope i didnt.but i just make the guides easier and the downgrader easier by myself so that users do not need to do this and that i do not know how to hack but i know designing though lol...

ans:yes but this Hend is to run some homebrews in 2.71 mobos

ans:it depends if there is one lol.but i think u can upgrade to higher versions from oe-c straight.but im wonder will there be 3.10 or 3.50 etc anytime soon

ans:99% of homebrews can be runned.i use x-flash,irshell 4.0,filer 2.8,gpsp 8.0 and more.but in xflash some features are disabled cause it might brick the psp,good thing there is a recovery menu that if u semi brick u can get it back to 1.50 and update it again to your following custom firmware

Good news! They're releasing a mod-chip for TA-082 mobos. So if you happened to brick your PSP by trying to downgrade, you can always buy the mod-chip to unbrick your PSP and to load different firmware. The release date and the price is unknown but when this thing comes out and it costs not too much, I'll try to downgrade my PSP knowing that if my PSP bricks, I can always by a mod-chip.
My PSP Firmware History: 2.60 had to return the PSP because it had a dead pixel > new PSP had firmware 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 > 3.71 M33 with 1.50 kernel

k. But I still need to install HEN-D first like your guide says to downgrade 2.71 TA-082, yea? (I mean like it's not optional) lol, sorry for being so anal ^^;

There's iRShell 4.0? I only know 3.1. How can I get that?
Sorry, one last new question. Each time I use devhook to emulate a FW version to play a game, it counts as a flash, right? If it does count, why aren't all these flashes dangerous?

sorry i type it wrong didnt check it .yup it is irshell 3.1.nah emulating firmwares in devhook doesnt count as flash coz u can shut it down in the middle of a emulated firmware.if it was a flash file there should be a must to exit the firmware and go back to your current one.
yup flashing is dangerous,u can think twice before doing it.but i dont really think it bricks the psp unless u havent read the tutorial properly first then do it and read again lol!!!.i had only 1 psp that i bought is a 2.50 ta-082 fooling around and try devhook,old irshell,file assitant and more still didnt brick my psp.until the incident when i was in 3.03OE-c that i change the network update to a restart button.that brick it but i use the recovery and when back to 1.50 then update it again to 3.03OE-c all went good.

Thanks Subling this is what i'm doing (removing UMD whilst going to Photo and running HEND) but all i get is a blue screen and it shuts down, ive probably tried 70 times now, i got the white screen as described before once but nothing happened i had to shut down. What am i doing wronge

I thought the idea of running hend and devhook is so you can play iso's its just not as reliable as downgrading( but this has risks).

hey petaboy try getting hend from http://dl.qj.net/dl.php?fid=11444
open it with WinRAR then open ms_root now extract all the files here straight to the main of your memorystick.when finish try placing a colorful background pic and run hend.make sure the hend folder is fully shown up before clicking it.
RovCal yes i think so u have to eject the umd coz it need to run hend that will auto reboot the psp then devhook.try downgrading it and updating it to 3.03 oe-c there u do not need a umd disk to play iso games and/or can switch off the autoboot of umd disk.but be advice that downgrading is a bit dangerous coz it writes flash.so read the guide carefully before doin it.but this is all up to u

Firmware 3.10 has been released in Korea. Dark_AleX should be working on 3.10 OE-A once the US release of this firmware comes out.

I wonder why the Koreans get the update before the Japanese? Haha. Sony's biggest fear are the Koreans. ^_^
