where is this 1.5 and 303 updaters at, why didnt they come with the package or are they there?
and is this different than the package above?..and if so, how can someone revise there 303oe-c to this version of 303oec and utilize the popstation?..

thanks..
Personally I used the file from psp-hacks.

The psp-hacks file is the original file from Dark_Alex the other is the file pre-packed from Kalevaro, you have the downgrader and the upgrader to 3.03 eo in the same package. And he has already do some steps to upgrade to 3.03oe.. For my point of view I prefer do all the step myself so I used only the original package.

my psp 2.71 ta-082 run now the 3.03 oe-c ! :-)

Hi kostyam69, I wonder if you can answer this for me

my PSP is a TA082 running firmware 2.71. I only have DevHook 0.42 installed.

So.. up til now, I am able to run ISO/CSO that requires 2.71 or lower.

For my PSP to run newer game that req. firmware 2.8 or 3.0 or what not, what do Ireally need to do ?

Do I only need to install a newer version of DevHook (0.52) and that is it ? Does DevHook 0.52 work w/ PSP w/TA082 running 2.71 ?

Or do I need to downgrade to 1.5 firmware and then install DevHook 0.52 ?

I am pretty confused ... and I have been studying in "AfterDawn" for 2 days... pls help

thx

Blkhawk - when i had Killzone, it required me to upgrade to 2.81 in order to play it. I didnt want to upgrade from 2.71 so I downloaded a devhook 5.1 and dumped a 2.81 firmware in it and I was able to play it without upgrading.

So you gonna have to get a updated devhook that support higher firmwares and that support iso's then its on n poppin'.

Um.. blkhawk, you can use Devhook 0.51 for 2.71 to run games that require 2.71-3.02. Just follow the instructions from this thread. If you need a game that requires 3.03-3.11 firmware, a new Devhook update has been released that supports 3.11 firmware emulation. I'm currently in the works of trying to edit and stuff so I can try to get it to work with an emulated 1.5. Because when you try to load Devhook 0.52 on an emulated version of 1.5 it works but then when you try to emulate a firmware in an emulated firmware it doesn't work. So don't worry blkhawk, you should be able to emulate 3.11 soon without having to downgrade your 2.71 PSP. If there's no way, I'll e-mail Dark_AleX and see if he can create us a working Devhook 0.52 for 2.71 since he created Devhook 0.51 for 2.71.

UPDATE: No luck trying to get Devhook working on emulated 1.5. I've moved on to something else. I'm trying to replace the Devhook 0.51 BETA files with Devhook 0.52 files so it can still work with 2.71. I'm not sure on how to do this. Hmm, if only I can merge the EBOOT from .51 and the EBOOT .52 together.

My PSP Firmware History: 2.60 had to return the PSP because it had a dead pixel > new PSP had firmware 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 > 3.71 M33 with 1.50 kernel

Yes it should do the trick but not all UMDs will work on custom firmware and plus there's a risk. In order to get to custom firmware 3.10 OE you have to downgrade to 1.5, when you try to downgrade you take the risk of bricking. And that's not the only risk, after you downgraded (if it was successful and you didn't brick), you have to upgrade to 3.10 OE which also has a chance of bricking your PSP. Though, with Devhook, you can emulate 1.5 and play homebrew and you can emulate up to 3.11 (for us 2.71 users though, it's only up to 3.02 but that will change if I manage to successfully port Devhook .52 for 2.71) anyways and you can play ISOs that require firmware 3.02 and below. And you will never brick if you try to install Devhook. Just make sure the AC is plugged in at all times when installing! The reason for this is because in one step you have to write to the flash for 1 second, and don't worry, it won't brick during this process since it only takes 1 second and it doesn't write to the Flash firmware memory so it won't brick. The only way it can brick is if in that 1 second of writing to the flash, your PSP turns off or you enter sleep mode or your battery runs out, it may cause a brick. So just to be sure, make sure you have the AC adapter in so your battery doesn't run out and make sure battery is around 75% because you never know, there might be a power outage, and make sure nothing touches the PSP power/hold button! After you've done this, the risk of bricking is 0%. That's all!

Okay, go here to get Devhook K Easy Installer, http://www.rogepost.com/n/5619491542 and go here to get instructions which I google cached then pasted into word, http://www.rogepost.com/n/2910901576. Follow the instructions and it should work. If you want to get rid of gameboots, wallpapers and extra stuff from 1.5 PM me or post a message here.

You can't emulate 3.02 OE-B so we're stuck. But is PS1 emulation for the PSP that important? They're a lot of full speed PS1 emulators for the computer. Well, hopefully we'll be able to emulate custom firmware. It's just not worth it to risk bricking your PSP just for custom firmware.

UPDATE!!!: Guess what! 3.11 emulation on a 2.71. A person on maxconsole tipped me off on how to do this. Go to http://www.rogepost.com/n/9169651781 to get the neccessary files. Now in order to do this, you need Devhook 0.51 BETA for 2.71. Okay, extract the ZIP file from the link. Now you'll see a folder. Open it. There will be two folders called dh and fbm. Replace the fbm folder you have on your memory stick root with this one. Open dh folder. You'll see three folders, place all three folders in your dh folder and if it asks to overwrite say Yes to all. Anyways, now we're done installing. Now head over to your PSP. Load HEND, then when the PSP reboots itself, load Devhook 0.51 BETA for 2.71. Now set the settings you want and for firmware select 3.11. Then press Start Devhook. After you'll see a blue screen with sentences in different languages (BSOD). Press circle and wait a while. Now it will ask you ro set the settings. Set the settings you want and once you're finished you'll be at 3.11! I just started a thread on 3.11 emulation so don't ask me questions on this thread but here, on http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/473705

My PSP Firmware History: 2.60 had to return the PSP because it had a dead pixel > new PSP had firmware 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 > 3.71 M33 with 1.50 kernel

wow.. thx for the detail, BrendanL.

So, the 0.51 DevHook will work w/ my TA082/2.71 PSP right ?

Now, are there multiple DevHook ? from all the pieces , there seems to be a DevHook for regular PSP and a DevHook for TA-82 PSP..

So.. do you mind to confirm this for me ?

thx

Yes the Devhook 0.51 BETA for 2.71 will work with your 2.71 TA-082. Well, by Devhooks for regular PSP you're probably talking about firmware 1.5 PSPs. Normally, Devhook is written for 1.5 but Dark_AleX wrote it for 2.71 (mainly for TA-082 users). Dark_AleX wrote this for 2.71 mainly for TA-082 users because back then TA-082 PSPs were un-downgradeable. But those with 2.71 non-TA-082 can still use this. So basically there's Devhook for 1.5 and some Devhook for 2.71. Well, thanks to someone on maxconsole, we now know a way to emulate 3.11 with Devhook 0.51 BETA for 2.71 so we don't need to downgrade and take the risk of bricking our PSPs. Okay, go here to get Devhook K Easy Installer, http://www.rogepost.com/n/5619491542. Here are the instructions for Devhook 0.51 BETA 2.71. Guide for Easy Install Devhook "K" easy installer

NOTE:For Newbies,"Memorystick Root" means in your computer Execute the icon "My Computer".Then Find and Open "Removable Drive",This is your Memorystick unless u have another "Removable Drive" inserted.so it is best that u name the your drive.
3a.Now In your psp go to "USB CONNECTION" then in your Computer
3b.Extract all the files from Devhook "K" easy installer to your "Memorystick Root"

4.Now go to the "PHOTO" viewer of the XMB and enter in the folder "HEND".

5.A blue screen will appear the first time you run this program, and after that, you'll either see:

1) Red: The files couldn't be written to the flash, keep trying.

2) Blue: No change,if it is still blue then it is ok.that means
the files has been successfully written to your psp.

NOTE:Your "PSP" will autoboot and get back to the same screen k.

15.Now Click on start and wait.for about 5-15secs it depends on your memorystick speed, now u will be in 3.02. Press "HOME" button to take off the devhook menu.and do the firmware settings then go check your check you "system information" in system settings".

16.Now go to "USB CONNECTION" then in your computer go to your PSP "REMOVABLE DRIVE".

It should work with OE firmware. Just put the psardumper folders in GAME150 and it should work.

Motherboards don't matter anymore. You can downgrade anything on the market at this point. Unless you upgraded yours online to 3.10 or 3.11

Sorry man, I've been busy for these past few days. (This does work for TA-082 2.71 PSPs) Anyways, try this. http://www.sendspace.com/file/c6p2u8. Place all the folders in GAME in your GAME folder, the rest of the files, place them on your memory stick root.

EDIT: Whoops, I forgot to add HEN-D. Here's a link for HEN-D. http://www.sendspace.com/file/re1ncz. Place HEND in your PHOTO folder. Anyways, after you have placed the files on your memory stick, go to PHOTO and load HEND. (If you go to HEND and press right and the X button at the same time you'll see the picture, then press O and it will load. It's said to load HEND everytime.) Anyways, if HEND froze or anything, just turn off your PSP, and try it again. After you load HEND and the PSP reboots itself, go to Devhook 0.51 for 2.71 and set the settings. After you've set the settings (UMD SELECT : --Umd Disc-- (Do not place any umd inside, just select this option in the menu provided)
FIRMWARE : 3.11
CPU CLOCK : 222/111 (deflaut)
Boot Mode : DEVHOOK MENU) Go to "FLASH INSTALL".now read and do this carefully,in here Choose "install configfile to flash1:.after that u again will be in a dos mode lookalike.now over here press and hold the "O" button for 1secs and u will see it saving files. Make sure AC is plugged in, and make sure battery is at least 35% because you never know there might be a black out. Note using the FLASH INSTALL will not brick your PSP. The only chance of that happening is if your battery dies or you press the POWER button. Anyways, after you've done this, go to Start Devhook. You will be in the BSOD screen. Press O and wait a while. It will ask you to set the settings and voila, 3.11 emulation. (Note, you don't have to do the FLASH INSTALL everytime you load Devhook, you just need to do it once). Anyways, if you want to emulate 1.5 do these steps. Okay, when you're in your original 2.71 (not emulated, the PSP's 2.71), load HEND then go To "GAME" >>>> "Memorystick" and Run the Homebrew with the title "DEVHOOK Launcher VAHEX Mod".now u will be in Devhook Menu,Adjust the settings as per below:

only if you upgrade to 3.03fw and then you'll have to have GTA LCS (unpatched) to downgrade to 1.5. good luck finding one for under $60.......
