i have it burned, but havent tried it yet because i don't have access to my PS2 at the moment, i just wanted to know, so i can print the lable for it (its a RiDATA printable)
the media is good, i used it for all my PS2 and XBOX backup, so media wouldn't be a factor here.

thanks looking forward to playing it i heard that it takes a long time to get the game started to where the fun begins is this true because if it is how long does it take to get to the fighting and training.

ok I just got ff12 and want to make a back-up. I tried it once and it didnt work. when I tried to play the disk the first time the magic swap said that I need to insert a ps2 disk
I used
DVD Decrypter
TDK DVD+R 16x
Magic Swap 3.3
This is my first time backing a game. I not so sure what booking is or even if I need to do that. I did follow the guide on this site. Any suggestions on what to do or what is wrong.

im not def how it happened but i guess someone was at work one day (more than likely worked for square-enix or someother important ps2 crowd) and saw a nice shiney game just lying there. it happened to be ff12 a month before it was released and that person decided to steal it back it up, and in that persons generious heart said hey lets give it to every one. made it into a torrent and basically srewed square-enix out of lots and lots of money. so it wasnt that some states delayed the release its just someone stole a "test" version of it and released it a month early.

the best writing speed for burning a game is 6x the rest will either make the game lag skip have skippy music and all of the other bad things that could happen

ya'll noobs need to read the stickies before saying crap as fact. write speed depends on burners. things like benq1620 and up are good for 8-12x with good media. same for liteon 1635s and up. older 8x burners do it at 4x. most 16-20x burners can do 12x easily

Hey, im a bit new to burning (only done a few games for myself) and cant get FFXII to load. Im using Verbatim DVD-R (4.7gb and 8X certified) disks and never had a problem with them using my Sony burner but for some reason after 2 different releases of the game, I still cant get it to work on my ps2 and Iv tried buring at 1x, 2x & 4x and also even tried some other disks.....
Appart from one burn (out of about 6) none have worked, the only one that did was jumpy on the FMV's and also crashed at the same point every time (in the palace after gettin in the treasure room).
Does anyone have any idea whats up, maybe my disks or im not doing something right ??
Thanks in advance
Chris :)

My tip is to get sony DVD+R disc there about 25$ at walmart, other tell me that HP disc are good too. But why not use "sony" disc on your sony ps2. As for vertuim they suck I had those first they would burn and load up the first screen but then the made my ps2 make wierd noises, then freeze. Screw that! Get a good burner too. Mine is an exteral sony one. I got FFXII torrent to work with these medias. I cant find those "taiyo yuden" disc except online. I think they may work also. Dont use maxell, memorex, vertbuim, and other cheap bundle disc. R+ work fine they are suppose to deliver better sound and picture quality. I also use nero; burn image; slowest possible speed and finalize the disc then has worked fine for the 6 back-ups I have made.
