DVD Shrink RIP stops playback

I am testing out ripping all of my DVDs to an HTPC box so i can use it lieka DVD server. I have issues with 2 different titles (so far) that stop playback. the first was Matrix as a full backup copy. i am playing these directly from the HD. It was fine for about 50 minutes or so and then just froze, like there was no more movie. If i open in DVD Shrink, ican see the autopreview showing the whole movie. The same happens with Miracle in the middle of chapter 2...frozen. I have used DVD shink and made hard copies before w/o much issue. Is there something i should be doing different if i will play them back off the HD? I did end up reautoring Matrix to include only the main move, thinking it was just a bad rip but the same thing happened (possible at the same point, but i just stepped a few chapters in and it froze).

I though I remember hearing some peopl say that changing it to region 0 can cause issues. Should i re-rip as region 1?

Found the issue. It seems that it desn't like to playback VOBs that are too large. I was reauthoring in to 1 VOB usually 5-7GB. I enabled to option to split into 1GB VOBs and it worked. I'm not sure what the limit was, i had one around 3 and it was OK. It was almost like after got past a certain point reading the large file, it would freak out and the player would use 99% of the CPU. Smaller VOBs fixed the problem
