Can DVD Shrink be used only to remove Macrovision or copyguard and NOT to shrink or compress a dvd ? I used to use DVD Decrypter for this but it is no longer available.

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks!

Hi Gary3072
Shrink will compress the movie to fit on a single layer dvd. Since it's no longer updated it can't handle Macrovision copy protections and a few more. DVD Decryper can't handle the newer ones either w/o some help also.

So you can rip w/ dvdfab decrypter (free) then open those files in Shrink and process as usual.

Or use RipIt4Me - all free too and uses DVD Shrink & DVD Decrypter.
Here's a link w/ a guide and links to dl the programs needed.

One other question...can DVD Fab Decrypter be used to "shrink" a dvd to 4.7gb, or is DVD Shrink better for that ?

DVDFab decrypter is just a ripper (yes the user interface shows more but those options aren't available w/ the free version).
Nothing wrong with that - Shrink will do the compression and is better for that than the paid versions of DVDFab.
