I have a problem. No matter what dvd copier program i have i can't get any of them to work. I have tried DVD Decrypter and the files it puts on my computer won't do a thing i click on them and windows doesn't know what they are. I have tried easy dvd clone and it always cancels in the middle of burning the cd. I have tried dvd cloner 3 and i can;t get it to work either. I burn the cd and then it won't play in any dvd player. Any suggestions?

Try reading the Guides for the Programs you use.

Then if you are still having problems Post exactly what you are doing.

If you are tring to view the movie while it is on your computers HD, you must use a program like Nero's Showtime.

What is the best all in one program to use? I have gone by the guide in all the programs. If they burn the dvd it just always never works in any dvd player.

Hi,

Without re-writing what has been said in other threads read here
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/360110. If you follow that thread and use all the tools recommended (all free software) then you should have no problems.

to burn or not to burn that is the question

Hi,

What step are you on? Are the files on your hard drive? If they are and bigger than 4400mb (4gigs) then run thru DVD Shrink and settarget output to 4300mb. By the way if you followed the guide all the way thru the steps are pointed out for you as is the setup (just a reminder to read the entire tutorial).

Once you have ran the files thru DVD Shrink and have a size that will fit onto a dvd I suggest using imageburn or DVD Decrypter to burn it to dvd. Use reputable media such as verbatim, sony or fuji (sony or fuji should read on the label made in Japan). Taiyo yuden is top notch media as well but usually can be ordered online mostly. Whatever dvd burning application you have should be able to burn the files to dvd if they are ready to be burnt (i.e. Nero, roxio, etc).

*imageburn can be found in the software tab at the top of the page and DVD Decrypter can be found in the 1stlink in my signature. Also guides there you can use as well.

@ pjm76,

When using Shrink what was the output file? A Video_ts folder or an ISO image file

Not sure i just did the steps. I know that there are two files with many files in them. One says video and one says audio. When i click on any of these files my computer can't find a program to run them in. Says can;t open. There also a few files in there that say it will run with media player yet when i click on them it says windows does not recognize the file.

Hi,

@300bowler you beat me to that question I forgot to ask earlier :)....image burn will burn an iso output (if you chose that output for DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter will do that as well). If you have Nero installed it will burn the video ts folder.

*someone correct me if I am wrong.

Imgburn will burn your files from either a VIDEO_TS folder or ISO image. Open Imgburn and browse to your ISO in "write" mode or if you have a VIDEO_TS folder use "build" mode.

Here are some guides:

Sounds like its a folder with two folders in it 1 saying Video and 1 saying Audio, is this dvd u ripped and and havent Shrunk?

If the size of the folder is less than 4.35Gb then u can burn the folder using ImgBurn
Here is a guide for ImgBurn
http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=1779

If it is bigger than that that then that is the original dvd u ripped and have to find the one that shrink made.

@pjm

Take a look at the guides I posted...if you don't get an error during the encode you should be ready to burn. Open Imgburn and follow the guide.

Ok i had the file changed to a ISo image and then i opened Imgburn and then i selected browse for file and selected my iso file. I put a dvd in the dvd writer drive. Now it says medium not present. It won't let me click on write. What do i need to do from here ?

Imgburn will burn your files from either a VIDEO_TS folder or ISO image. Open Imgburn and browse to your ISO in "write" mode or if you have a VIDEO_TS folder use "build" mode.

Make sure that your firmware is current and post a log of your next attempt. As for the I/O error, try this.

Quote:
In the settings screen, change the 'Transfer Length' option to 'Manual' instead of 'Automatic' and put it on '32 KB' instead of '64 KB'.

if you wat to watch it on you computer, download vlc media player. then open the file and high lite the audio & video and drag en drop it in vlc. if you need to put it to disk use Nero. next time when using DVD Shrink make sure you put a check mark in "burn using nero". once DVD Shrink rips it to your hard drive it will eject it and then you put a blank dvd in and Nero takes over and puts it on your dvd disk
