You should use a program called DVDFab Decrypter first to rip the movie to your hard drive and then use DVD Shrink to compress it. It may not be doing it because the movie is still encrypted and needs to be decrypted first.

Hi noasad
Make sure AnyDVD is running - you'll see a red fox in the system tray like this:

Using the latest 6.0.8.2? This one has Macrovision's Ripguard on it but Shrink & AnyDVD can handle it.
If you don't then double click the red fox on your desktop to start AnyDVD.
Or you can use the ripper in AnyDVD (right click on the red fox -pick 'Rip Video DVD to hard disk'.
Does the analysis part succeed?

Ok check this in Shrink - look under 'unreferenced material'
There will be a file under there where you see a running/jumping boy. Highlight this file and make it a still image under 'video'.
That should do the trick for you.

I'm having a problem with DVD Shrink. when I try to open a file that I have downloaded through DVDFab Pro, shrink tells me that the program has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way.
please contact the application's support team for more information.
what can I do? and how do I contact the support team?
Please help!
I also tryed to remove the program and download it again and I still get the same thing

i'm not sure what methods you are used to using but this works for me with movies with heavy encryption.
have AnyDVD 6.0.8.2 running in the background. then rip movie with decryptor 3.5.4.0 to your hard drive. you still won't be able to use shrink yet. then use fixvts (i have version 1.5 works for me) after that use VobBlanker 2.1.1.0. on the file that you get after running the movie with fixvts. now use the file that you get with VobBlanker and use it with shrink.
if you're not sure of how to use the programs fixvts and VobBlanker then you might have to do some reading. they are not difficult programs to use and don't take that long for them to process the files. let me know if it works or if you have any questions.

Hi Hddragon9
I'm not that familiar at all w/ DVDLab pro but will see what I can do.
What is the file type that you get from DVDLab and are trying to open in Shrink?
Sounds like it may not like it or there is a conflict somewhere.
Is it only when you are using a file from DVDLab that this happens w/ Shrink?

Ahh Chicken Little :) Ok this one has all the usual Disney stuff like MacroVision's Ripguard on it.
I'd pass on DVD43 - conflicts with programs like DVDFab and Decrypter even if it's turned off. Plus I don't think it handles all the newer stuff that well.
Which version of DVDFab are you using? Should handle it but may need to try another version.
Another free way to do this one would be RipIt4Me. Uses Shrink, Decrypter and FixVTS. Here's a link for downloads & a guide:

@nosad - DVDFab Decrypter should rip right through United 93.
my methods are as follows - DVD Shrink, and for those movies it can't do alone, DVDFab Decrypter, then DVD Shrink. and sometimes DVD Decrypter too (sometimes followed by DVD Shrink)
Main PC ~ Intel C2Q Q6600 (G0 Stepping)/Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3/2GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500/Zalman CNPS9700/Antec 900/Corsair HX 620W
Network ~ DD-WRT ~ 2node WDS-WPA2/AES ~ Buffalo WHR-G54S. 3node WPA2/AES ~ WRT54GS v6 (inc. WEP BSSID), WRT54G v2, WRT54G2 v1. *** Forum Rules ***

@Hddragon9
Ok have your tried the earlier version of DVDFab - 2.9.8.3?
Seems to be some problems for some w/ the newer v3 of DVDFab.
Here's a guide for dvdfab & VobBlanker that may help.
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154
Try the RipIt4Me if that fails.
One of these should do it for you.
If you need help w/ either just let us know.
@noasad
Hmmm I checked my disc - US region 1 - that one has the running/jumping boy under unreferenced material.
Which version of DVDFab Decrypter did you try?

OK all.. This is my first post hope this is the correct place for this. I do not own Flight 93 to try it on so I can't say it works on that one But I do have other Sony DVDs. I have had trouble on and off with backing up some of MY DVDs. The one's with the Sony running boy encryption. If it helps after many tests I found that you use DVDDecrypter while running AnyDVD in the backround and then use DVD Shrink and change the "Unreferenced Material" folder (should be about 10 megs)to a still image. This seems to work and not give you the I/o error during the running boy phase. I have not had any issues playing the DVDs.
