Try format your memory stick (after you have backed up anything important). Then try copy the files again.

It might be a problem with your memory stick. Have you tried using a different one?

Hi Everyone,
I know it's probably been discussed a million times already, but I spent the last six hours trying to figure this out. I've been reading all the forums and using Google like crazy...So I just want you to know I'm not being lazy.
2 days ago I got a new PSP, and to my dismay it was a TA-082, which I figured is not downgradable, so I followed this guide and was able to get everything right, until I tried playing an iso file.
I basically ran HENC first, followed by devhook 4.x. I get the black screen with the purple box, find my ISO file, configure everything, and click on start. All I get is a black screen and the psp just freezes, and I have to reboot. I tried both the 1.5 no umd and the 2.71 anyumd modes, no success either way. I also tried it more than 10 times, so please tell me what to do.
Also, do I need a UMD disc to play an iso? I have an unopened MGS portable ops and I don't want to open it until I'm definitely sure I'm going to be able to use it (is a firmware update required?).
Sorry if this is too long, but I obviously need some help.
Thanks...

just follow this guide from top to bottom ;), and yes you need a UMD game to run your ISOS.
Here are the steps you should do:
1 - Have FW 2.71
2 - Install HENC
3 - Install DevHook
4 - Run HENC
5 - Run DevHook
6 - Configure your DevHook (You can play your ISOS in FW 2.71 ;D)
7 - Insert UMD Disk
8 - Play your ISO

Yeah do what chuyo said, but I think this is a better guide:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/399310
Also, do not insert a UMD until after HEN has auto-reseted your PSP. Also use HEND instead of HENC as you cant play MGS:PO with HENC, you need HEND + DevHook 0.51 to play it.

Thanks for the reply.
Well I followed this guide every step of the way, not skipping anything at all. I got stuck after step 6 and before 7 of the part explaining how to run iso files..
And since I can't play MGS, which is better? get another game that's compatible with a lower FW or just go ahead and get HEND and DevHook 0.51 instead of 0.4x?
Thanks again.

@sixaxis- Did you scroll down to the part of the guide which says "2.71 TA-082 only 3.01 emulation" (because thats the part you're supposed to follow)?
@acashark- That is natural, when you run HENC it does sometimes freeze. Try using HEND and if that doesn't fix it, I don't think that there is a solution.

I followed it and it works fine, but after I select DevHook Loader for 2.71 and it says game could not be loaded, afterwards it jumps back but the background color changes to pure white... and I cannot see the secondary text... so I cannot tell if the version is 1.5 or not....
should i just go ahead and try the ISOs?

The weirdest thing happeneded today. I installed HEN and DEVHOOK for long time and it always worked for me. But it just stopped today. When I start DEVHOOK and try to load my ISO games, it has the following screen and pissed me off. I've tried so many hours and still in vain.

Each time I try to load my ISO games, it kept saying that I need to update my system software. Any great guy can help me, please!!!

i cant seem to install HEN C....
everytime i go to Photos on my PSP and then press X on the HEN C folder. It hangs right there. No blue screen no nothing. Then it automatically turns off and then i turned it on again and did the same and again this happened. Nothing happens when i select the devhook thing in games either, it just gives me an error saying that this game cannot be loaded.
I think it might be because: I observed the tutorial and the 6 files we have to copy and paste it on the root. I relized that in the tutorial u copy 6 files and paste 8 on the root :S.
This is very confusing. Please Help.

P.S: when i select Devhook (the 1 out of 2 u specified)the black screen doesnt come where u have to select firmware. The error comes before that and nothing happens after the error.
