can some one help me i have just had a new dvd burner and shrink wont burn i have Nero it ust to work it only want to put the movie to my hard drive and not burn it it like it dosent know my burner is ther,but it will analise it in that drive, i have got all the ticks in the right boxes in shrink help.

need some clarification... your burner sees the original dvd? shrink will analyze it? won't burn? please give exact details of what error message you get when doing what. maybe then someone can make a suggestion.

mathry,
If I understand you correctly, shrink will analyze the disk and allow you to only rip and save the files to your hard drive without giving you the option of burning them to disk using with Nero.
First, try uninstalling shrink then reinstall it, Nero and your burner should be detected as being installed on your system.
Next, take a quick look at the way shrink is setup and make sure it's setup to use Nero to burn to disk.
1) Make sure you have enable burning with Nero selected in its preferences as shown here;
2) When backing up, make sure you choose your burner under the Burn with Nero section as shown;
Worst case:
1) Uninstall shrink
2) Uninstall Nero (use the nero6 or 7 cleantool for the uninstall)

3) Uninstall your burner (this can be done thru Device Manager), the burner will be reinstalled upon rebooting the PC
Next:
1) Reinstall Nero and enter your serial#
2) Reinstall shrink
3) Recheck shrink's settings as shown and retry to backup a disk

Did you also update your Nero to 6.6.1.4? If you did, the automatic link to burn with Nero is broken. Go back to stable 6.6.0.18. If this is case post back; we'll get you the clean tool and download site for Nero 6.6.0.18!

Open Nero Burning Rom and click on HELP and click on ABOUT Nero and it will tell you what version you have.

i did like you said but it still dosent burn shrink only wants to put to my hard drive could it be my drivers but then again it will analys in my burner drive shrink knows that Nero is ther

To see if your burner is working, which it seems to be doing, set shrink to create an ISO image file and burn the ISO with DVD Decrypter. If you don't have DVD Decrypter(free) get it here and there is also a guide on how to burn the ISO file:

If your burner can burn with Decrypter then you'll know the burner is OK and the villian is Nero.

hi garmoon thanke for all your help and you are right it is Nero i think the problem is that my old burner was a sony and it came with the coppy fo Nero i was using altho i downloaded Nero from the site you gave me the key i had on the old Nero i think was only to be used with the sony burner so i will get a new Nero so htanks again for all you help, MATHRY

Were you able to burn with decrypter? You can do them this way until you get a working Nero. You may also want to learn ImgBurn also which is an upgrade of the decrypter program without the ripper function and the best way to do DLs if you have AnyDVD too.
Glad you got Nero identified as the problem.
