Hey everyone, this is my first time using this site and hope it can be of help!

I have never had a problem with DVD Shrink up to this point. The DVD is opened and then after clicking back-up, the hour glass comes up for a short time and DVD Shrink closes down. It's not the DVD's because I'm not having this problem on other computers in the house, it's just this computer.

Something you guys should know is that my computer has recently been back and forth with HP and they have replaced some hardware and updated the hardware drivers. Also they updated my BIOS.

I'm wondering if there is anything I could check within my computer, please let me know if anyone has any clue about this problem. Thank you all very much.

~Wade

Try disabling the option to burn with Nero.
If you want, you could choose to burn with ImgBurn.
The version of Shrink that will enable you to burn with ImgBurn can be downloaded here:

You can always uninstall DVD Shrink, then reinstall to see if it'll solve the issue. If you've already tried "uninstall & reinstall", then it's definitely something from your system.

this kind of behaviour can happen when Shrink encounters a DVD it can't handle, however it's more likely temperature related or software related; try the other guys' advice and also have a look at this one (re airflow in the pc case etc) - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/414849

THANKS!

Hey, disabling Nero worked! I recently installed the updated version of Nero and after my computer came back from HP, the older version I had is back again. Does having the older version or anything related to this affect this problem I'm having? Thanks again...

Wade07,
I would also d/l a free registry cleaner and clean out all of the registry conflicts as that also will make a program shut down. You can Google for a free one.

Edit:
Glad it was Nero. I think Nero had DVD burning in version 5.5.10 and up. If that version is not on the computer then use Nero Cleantools and remove Nero completely from the system. Re-Boot and re-install the newer version and see if you have any problems. I would still use a free registry cleaner on the system even after finding out the problem was Nero

That version of Nero does not work with Shrink. Glad to hear your problem is solved.
