Hiya .. sorry if this has already been covered but Im very confused! Maybe you can help ........
I have an .avi file on my computer that I am trying to play though divx and i get sound but no picture ...... the codec is xvid & Ive got that downloaded .... what else can i try?
Ultimately I want to transfer it to DVD, but for the moment, this query will have to do till Im in a position to do the next bit! lol
Well get a program called GSpot and check what codecs are required just to be safe, also try a program called avicodec, that also will give u more info on the file. And try playing the file in a better player like WinDVD!
I just bought a dvd rewriter bundled with Nero 5.5 ..... Does this encode avi's to mpeg-2?
I have tried TMPGEnc but it only seems to give the option for mpeg-1, which isnt good enough for what i want. Plus the fact that it says that the file I am encoding is way too big .. even though it isnt!
I am getting more & more confused with each day ..... any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi again ........... Right ..... Ive delved a bit deeper into all of this & this is what i "think" I need to do with my avi's ........
Software I need is .......... DVD2SVCD, CCE (Cinema Craft Encoder), TMPGEnc DVD Author, Nero (version Ive got is 5.5.10.13) ........
Is this enough or are there any more?
I was told about 2 other ....... AC3 Machine .... and DVDRepair ........ what are these & what do they do & are they really necessary & if so where do i get them?
Of course ... that is all for making my own dvds ........ I guess if I want to back up my dvd's, VirtualDub would do that all for me would it?
