I have been using DVD Shrink for a while and I have never had any problems. Just recently, the time it takes to encode a movie has doubled and even tripled. I don't understand why. I have already uninstalled the drivers and nothing has changed. You guys know how to fix things help me out.

Have you checked that your devices (Hard Drive and DVD device) have DMA turned on?
My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>IDE
click the '+' of the IDE and look at the Primary and Secondary IDE Devices(right click)> Advanced Settings.
Typically the devices will show 'DMA if Available' and a drop down box will show the actual settings.

Have you checked/ticked "Deep Analysis + AEC + Max Smooth" by a chance?

Sounds like a DMA issue to me. Either it's in PIO or OFF Mode instead of DMA Available or Ultra DMA Mode 5 (4, 2, etc.)

Here How to fix DMA especially if you're experiencing slowness.

Regards

Did you use 'alkohol's' method to verify your settings?
It's posible that your hard drive and your burner are on the Primary, however you should see a Secondary (even if nothing is connected).
If you have Nero installed on your PC, you probably have Nero tools.
You can run the toolkit to see your configuration.

My secondary IDE channel only shows one drive and its on DMA mode. How do you post the screen like you did, so that I can show you what I'm talking about. There are two drive on my primary IDE channel and they are both on DMA mode.

It sounds like DMA is turned on for your devices, therefor the problem lies elsewhere.
Are you using Shrink as a ripper instead of the likes of DVD Fab Decrypter?

Upload the image to a storage site (I happen to use imageshack).

Use the link shown on that site for your particular image and include it in your post between the sets of brackets [img][/img]

Below is an example of a live link :

Once it's between the brackets, it will appear in the body of your post.
Note that [img] is lower case.

If you are using Shrink to copy the files from the DVD to the hard drive, then switch to DVDFab Decrypter then use Shrink on the output files instead.
