i am new to all this dvd burning thing, but i have obtained DVD Shrink 3.2 and have been using it with Nero 6. the problem however lies when i shrink the dvds and go to burn it. when i hit the backup icon in DVD Shrink, the whole program shuts down and nothing happens. However when i go into settings and disable Nero burning and hit the backup icon, the box which allows you to backup to hard drive appears. Is there a soluton to my problem? ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Nero and DVD Shrink but nothing has worked. any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is fine if the box appears! In the destination box select the drive that you want to back up to, then press the Create New Folder button and name the folder the name of the movie. Shrink will create a VIDEO_TS folder for the movie.

Then open Nero and burn. You can of course use Nero Recode2. You said that you have Nero 6. If you are in DVD mode you should have the option to use Recode2. Use it the same way that you use Shrink except that you have the option to burn straight to disk or to burn to HD firs. If you burn to HD first create a folder for your movie and another folder under that named VIDEO_TS. It will look something like this D:\MI3\VIDEO_TS

Then when you choose to burn select that folder. Make sure to burn -ROM is you are using +R DVDs.

Good luck!
