I can copy and burn dvds with ease a great majority of the time, but ocassionally I get one that will open between 17% and 55% the throw up an error sign as if there's some sort of extra copy protection on it. Is there some other program that can read and copy ANY disc?

you might want to try ripit4me. or the dvdfabdecrypter/vobblanker/shrink combo. those are freeware, and need to be kept up to date. if you want to spend a little money, AnyDVD, from slysoft, is the way to go.

Hey Great! That's a good start. Now I just have to figure out how to get all that stuff downloaded correctly. If I can't figure it out, I guess I will have to spend some money. Thanks.

the download sites are all listed in my signature. some have guides at the download site, and there are also guides here on afterdawn (click on "guides" tab at the top of the page). you can also search for "(software name) guide/tutorial" on google or any search engine. there is a bit of a learning curve at first, but if you take your time and read and follow the guides you will be able to back up any dvd without a problem, usually!
