alright, sad to say it but for some reason my ps3, only 2ce, has had game issues. when i turned it to stand-by and turned it back of some time later, i tried to run motorstorm and got some 80******something-or-another numbered error telling me something has gone wrong. then i tried rr7 and got the same thing, and i was getting so pi$$ed. i put it to stand-by, turn off the i/o switch in the back for 5 seconds, and turned it back on and booted. this completely solved the problem. its happend twice and it seem liks a software related issue. im sure an update will fix this. does anybody know where i can report such things to sony?
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

best thing to do is,look through the ps3's box, there should be some booklets, one of em having the sony hotline number, ring that, give them the error code and say it'e happened on numerous occasions, see what they,i'm not to sure what the problem is,but if this is happening when the disk is inserted,it might be the bluray drive itself,if it keeps on happening, then just take it back to the store or send it to sony or however there return policy works, get a replacment,etc...goodluck

What tv are you using for it? Is it Hd or Sd? I'd it's in Hd make sure it has HDCP (high-bandwith digital content protection) or else it may seem the ps3 if freeze'in though its the signal is being cut off, I also played mine for 10hrs straight and no problems at all, but I do have a tv with 1080p that also has hdcp. I think it was EGM who had an article on this say to wait on getting your tv for the ps3 because of this hdcp at least till fall of 06, so that's exactly what I did.

EDIT: i think the signal mite be getting cut off because i could still hear the audio working perfectly but the pic froze.

Yeah thats the problem, check you manual or call customer service and they will tell you if or if not it's has hdcp and I can assure it does not . Older tvs dont have this even if its a couple of months old, not to get on your case or anyone else but if anyone one read that article ppl won't have these type of video problem I will scan article as soon as I find the magazine.

Sound Problem
Switching from BD movie playback to gameplay results in loss of sound from the optical output.
Solution: Reboot the system (or go to standby) after BD movie playback before attempting to play a game.

the funny thing is my t.v. doesn't have a dvi input, but an hdmi one instead. i'll check and see if that was the exact model or not. thanks for the help anyways.
EDIT: the model number is HD50LPW62A . i hope that helps

it happened after it was in standby for awhile. both games on hdd and bluray hae that error, and i think its a software loop error. i'll call the next time it appears so i cant get the error number.
btw, the primus concert rocked minus the drunken mosh.. i went into heat exaustion and had to be puller ofer the stage fance or i would ave passed out in it all. that blowed. i wish people wouldnt ruin it for othere, im in so much pain. but the music was great, i found a safer spot once i recovered.

well she said "return to default settings" and that worked, but it only failed to load games again after exiting blast factor demo. i turned off the power for 10 secs and turned it on and again it solve the problem. i hope they take down my info and repair this soon.
the error phrase is "an error occoured during the start operation"

A couple of issues reported by a friend and also reported on some websites:
>Resolution Switching. On some older HDTV's connected by HDMI the PS3 doesn't automatically switch to the game's native resolution. Example: If you don't manually switch the XMB to 720p from 1080i R:FoM gets bumped down to 480p. I have no problems with my SXRD's and I don't know if this happens on component.
>Lockups During Text Entry. My friend's system always locks up when he enters text. No solution yet except reboot. I'll try this later to see if it happens on my system.
