im not exactly sure what you mean by that, but i have two controllers and have never suffered from a powering down, locking up or any other problems...

there actually was one scary moment, currently im in the process of installing YDL on the system, and had to reboot the system. well after it rebooted i forgot that i needed to hit the homebutton on the controller to turn it on, so the system booted and the screen came up but nothing was working and i got a tad bit nervous, but then realized my dumbass forgot to turn the controller on...

playing NHL 2k7 i thought the controller response when using the motion sensor ability works surprisingly well. if you move the controller forward(thursting action) your player will lay into an opponent, and it works well. no complaints on this end...

both my controllers are on low battery. it sucks cuz extra controllers dont come with a charge cable. the wigging out is not fun and happens still, but less.

But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

What funny about that is the first time I used my PS3 I downloaded some demos including the cash-something-dlx demo and it froze when it loaded so I restarted and the system was unreasponsive (I thought), so I was freaking out cause I got a Japanese console off eBay pretty cheap so I thought I got screwed, so I'm pushing every button and nothing is working my manual is in Kanji so I couldn't look in there, finally I pressed the PS button and we were back. I was thinking how many people probably did the same thing even though it told you the first time we booted to press it....lol

i think the update fixed the "error during start operation" malfunction.

that sucks. i pray the power stays on every time i install system vital items. if i were you, get a battery backup for your ps3, i plan on doing so within the next month or two. then if the power goes out, you have plenty of time for the install to finish and to boot down.

That really sucks.

On another note, I went to ebgames to get fNR 3 and the ebgames employee and customer behind me ( both women and the customers was older lady and both Wii onwers.) Asked me how do I like me ps3 and said "great"
She then asked " have you had any problems because the one we have (kiosk)overheats"
I said " it probably because kiosk, there is no vitilation in that glass case"
She replies" oh well I have also heard about them overheating"
I say" I have heard them overheating because of the kiosk, but haven't heard any consumer complaints"
Older lady says, "that has happened to my bothers, it overheats and it stands alone (with nothing around it, think that's what she meant)"
Then ebgames chick says" well my friends has also overheating probs and he has returned it three times" which I'm think yeah right or was you friend the same one who went through four 360 and bitched about it all over the net. So then I was like ok thank you and walk off with my game, but could still hear them talking about the whole situation.
Anyways I'm thinking I must be the luckiest SOB who got a good one with no problems of any sort and have it on top of a dvd player next to a reciever on the side(will post pics as soon as I can) but am I really, I mean I have been playing it everyday 6-8 hrs always on standby, and nothing. Maybe I am a Ps3 fanboy even though I own all three previous consoles, but was wondering if anyone has have overheating problems or where these two biatches just bitter cause either they didn't have the funds to by one or where just envious of what they don't have. Sorry guys had to vent.

I heard this one guy, I think on ps3news.com, say his over heats and he played Resistance for like an hour and his disc was melted and all warped. Total BS!!! The PS3 pushes out a lot of hot air but that's good, that means it not staying inside the unit, I was a little freaked out by all the hot air at first but feel the top or a disc after playing for awhile if your is like mine then they should be relatively cool. Besides that retard and kiosk I have yet to hear about a unit overheating.

you have to plug it in with the included composite cables, and set your ps3 to output throught hdmi. i hope that helps

@honda
yeah im yet to hear or experience anything uncentralized about the ps3 other than the controllers wigging out and some hate for 720p-less systems. but those hhdtvs that dont support it are so old and so few, who cares?

my dad has an HDTV that is incapable of most play in hd. its and older crt, about 3 years, that does 1080i but not 720p. it sucks because then everything incapable of 1080i gets downscaled.

thanks alot
Hate to burt your bubble. But that projector is not a true HD projector. Its only 800x600 Native resolution. You will be able to input 720p,and 1080i, but it will all only be displayed @ 800x600, and in wide screen, it would be much less.

You will see no difference, and probably a worse picture using the projector in 1080i, since a progessive signal is superior and not prone to noise like an interlaced signal.

I would run your PS3 @ 720p since your projector is slightly better than 480p. You will see a difference vs SD, but you will be very short of 720p.

i found a review of your tv

"It was a great thing. I plugged in the HD digital cable box and tuned PBS. It was an Alaska nature show. Absolutely beautiful. Then, on the second day of owning it, I turned it on and watched the red tube melt down. Now I have a blurry HDTV, on all inputs. I read some other reviews on the internet. This is NOT an isolated problem. Many, or most, have catostrophic problems with this TV."

i cant find anywhere telling me the exact resolution of your tv, but it can handle 1080 i and 720p. i'd recommend trying both and seeing what one you like better. I amd prefering 720 over 180i because interlacing causes this od flicker on distance or moving objects that is not enjoyable.

Well as for me, I have a samsung 1080p and everytime I play the ps3 I have to turn it on before I set the the signal on the tv which is hdmi (monster cable 800), so would I would suggest is turn on the ps3 and then set your tv to you signal(component or hdmi). You might also want to check your settings on your ps3, but as for me there is no downgrading or anything of that sort it outputs 1080p but that's because I have a new ( more recent)tv that supports it and and settings on the ps3. Hope that helps.

My tv is also 1080p. I tried different ways to start it up. I'm hoping it's the disk.

remember the first time you plug the ps3 to an HDTV, you will need to plug in composite cables to set the ps3 to output through hdmi. you also need to do this if you return settings to default.

remember, if you have component or higher you have to change your setting went traveling to anywhere w/o HDTV. if you forget, hold the power button when its off for 5 seconds untill it beeps then 480i on composite will work again, and many of your settings will be defaulted. just a tip for anyone!
