Depends, do you have any SATA connectors on the motherboard? Even if you do, depending on the drive in your 360, it may not be compatible. I got a Dell Dimension 9150, and I had to buy a PCI SATA card, because the drive in my 360 is a Samsung MS28, which is only compatible with PCI SATA cards with the VIA Chipset.

I'd imagine that if you think you'r technically proficient enough to open an XBox and soft mod it with a firmare flash, then you'd know what the heck google and a search engine are ... and what the "images" link in google does after you click it ... umm, isn't there also a search in this forum? To ask what a sata port is and what it looks like means you haven't even attempted to look online - and if you don't know how to do that, forget about flashing your drive ... its amazing you could figure out how to pist a question on here ... SHEESH!

But, wouldn't you think that its so flippin' obvious that if you don't know what something looks like, then you learn by sercyhing for it?! Wow ... threads like this upset me cuz they r pointless! 90% of the questions here could have been avoided if a simple google search was done! wow ... its pretty funny, ya know, to think that someone wants to flash their 360, yet they don't even know what a sata port is - hope u saved up some cash cuz you'll need it to replace ur 360 once u mess it up!

no ... I hardly ever post because most of the crap on the forum is now about modding your xbox to play stolen, bootlegged copies instead of buying the game ... my point is, if you're going to take the time and effort to thwart security measures to play stolen, bootlegged games, from a console you LOVE, yet moan about lack of availability of things, or the price of things, then don't bootleg, give M$ your money, and let them lower the price of the console and games respectively due to them not needing to implement security measures to prevent things like this from happening.
And on top of that, if you're going to take apart your xbox, but don't know if you can open the side of your computer, then that should be a word of caution, telling those of you who know what you're doing to not tell someone who will blow up his computer what to do ... because if you don't even know what a SATA port is, what it looks like, and don't know how to search for it on google, then you're probably not technically proficient enough to open an xbox and then mod it. Save your allowance from mommy and daddy and buy the game ... or better yet, ask santy claus for it .. maybe the easter bunny will leave one in an egg for you in April

HAHAH bryan your funny. maybe we did check on google and how we opened the computer (there is a picture of the inside dumbass) adn we wanted to clarefiy wheather that was a sata port. after it was concluded it wasnt a sta port i siad " damn! then i dnt have a sata conector!" which shows i did my homework and left it at there. so if your against modding the 360 then go and jump of a cliff with your 360 and perish savegly with it in your hands. maybe not all of us can offord £50 games and maybe some want it just to play for BACKUPS of our games.
go and bumlick microsoft u idiot and make a new section for "360 assholes who hate modding for GOOD"

Pity the only reason to mod it would be to play backups :( Hopefully one day they'll get some unsigned code and be able to port XBMC up to it :) Wonder if it will be as funny as the original xbox soft-mod lol

I'm sorry but I completely agree with him on this. Too many people are trying to flash their 360 and they don't even know what the hell a SATA port or DOS is. Hate me if you wish, I still agree with him.
