I have a pioneer 109 dvd burner with FW 1.58, which in the specs burns DL discs, I am using DVD+R Dual layer discs. I have downloaded the clonecd program and followed the instructions in this topic.
However I keep getting the messages of "writing to PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-109 FAILED!" after about 25 minutes of burning. I set the burning speed to x2 and followed instructions to the word.
Any ideas? need to upgrade my burner? discs?
http://img134.imageshack.us/my.php?image=clonefaultrq6.jpg
there is the log on that screenshot ^^ that might help.
downloaded Rainbow six, repaired the files, extracted them into a 000 file (7.3GB) and a dvd file (1KB). I then pressed "write from image" in clonecd and used the browser to find the DVD file then selected my burner to burn the file to. Is burning the DVD file correct or have I made a mistake and must burn the 000 file?
The progress meter in clonecd was at 100% when i came back to my computor but it said it had failed to write to my burner.
I have no idea where/what i am going wrong, if you need any more infomation from me just fire away with questions.
thanks.

Vladaron is my mate and was telling me of his problem yesterday. I told him to flash the firmware on his Pioneer which he has done. That didnt work. His clone cd is registered. Its the same version as mine and I am burning flawless backups on a Pioneer 108. He was telling me his backups are failing at about 50-55% which defo sounds like his burner is having trouble switchin layers. Does anyone know if FAT32 file systems have trouble burning dual layer images?Because i know they have trouble handling big files. Just a long shot. Also, think the DVD decyrpter method of burning is worth a shot?
EDIT: Backup, his dvd's are same as mine, Ricoh Japan DVD+R DL. Dye info RICOHJPND000

but mrlip has no problems whatsoever with that media yet i have 4 coasters, I don't think it is the discs. Clonecd seems to be my guess but i don't know how to find out and deal with it.
what media would you recommend?

Its Ricoh media not Ricon. Made in Japan, very good quality, more expensive than Verbatim!

it may not be the discs as mentioned but if i had the choice between the ricoh and verbs i would indeed choose the verbs they seem to be more flexable on the 360 drives but like i say i used some crappy cmc mag media and they seem to work flawless :)

No the layerbreak was already there i have done nothing manually. I tried a different file that contained the game F.E.A.R, same result. I have no idea what to do.

For anyones info, Vladaron fixed his problem by buying a Pioneer111D from SVP. £20 if you live in the UK. Sorted. Burning games flawlessly now.

I am trying to burn gears of war .000 image with DVD Decrypter but i get an error message with
i/o error
device [1:1:0] HP DVD WRITER 840b HJ86 (F:) (ATA)
ScsiStatus: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition
CDB: BF 00 00 00 00 00 20 0C 00 00
Interpretation: Send DVD Structure - DVD+R DL Boundary Information
Sence Area: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0E 00 00 00 00 24 00 00 00 00 00

I followed a tutorial on entering the layer break info into the dvd write mode tab of DVD Decrypter settings and saving the dvd file again as IMAGE_DVDDECRYPTER.
Please can anyone help with this or is it just my dvd writer?
Thank you.
