IMO I think the PS3 has the advantage cuz of Blueray and the amount of memory it can hold. Plus its always good to be able to play HD movies instead of gross looking 480 resolution dvds. Yeah I know most MS fans claim that a console is suppost to be only for gaming....so what. I dont see anyone Sony fans complaining about the 360 playing Dvds or HD DVDs...now that the price is pretty much aroud the same neighborhood.
so you say games dont make the console then what do? iam not saying that the ps3 wont catch on stronge in time but right now the 360 is the console to own.blu-ray is a nice touch dont get me wrong but is it mandatory on a gaming rig.and i beg to differ 480 dvds dont look bad at all on a high quality tv.so there you have fanboy,and dont come back with the famouse 50gig is needed for games right now bs.yes one disk for a really big games is cool and all that but most will not be upset by multi disk games.and to honest with you how many games are truly that damn big.

Sony is about to see another sales boost. Look at their numbers when they did a price drop on the 60gb unit. A lot more people are going to get them when they can get a $400 40gb unit. Games do make a console, but look at the line up for the next 6 months. I'm not hear to argue with anyone. Everyone has the right to buy what they want. To me Playstation has been out on top for 10 years. Besides, any good game that is released by microsoft will make it's way to pc. Gears of War in November.

It's not the first time he has started a fanboy fight. I'm pointing out a counter to the negative things that are said about the ps3. "I don't want a ps3 when I can get a Xbox for $400." The ps3 will soon be at $400, competing with the $400 Xbox premium unit. The sales boost will encourage more developers to make more and better games for the unit. As said before games do make the system. I could sit here and thrash the Xbox considering that this is the ps3 forum, but I'm not hear to argue. As far as the 360 games go, what truely blockbuster title has xbox had? You have Halo which hasn't changed for three games now. In my opinion you cant say that the xbox has better games. Now considering that I spent $600 for my ps3, why am I going to run out and drop another $400+ to play a few games that are going to be on my computer or my ps3. Not to mention that windows live users can play with Xbox live users.

well personally I still dont think that games will make the console any better...Yes it may boost sales a little but that doesnt really make it a better console than others.
Look at the Wii... it had out sold the 360 and the PS3. It has what 1 great game with a 10 rating in mags (Zelda). The rest of the games are between 6-7 in ratings.
So is it really the games that make the console great? You telling me the Wii sold the most units cuz of its games?
Or is it hype and loyal fans?
Cuz Iv been hearing from everyone that Halo 3(a game that can be beat in less than 6 hours) is a waste of money cuz its pretty much Halo 2 with a wax job...
my point is that...hype and loyalty to a certain gaming company will most likely make the console big...not really the games. Besides for flagship titles that goes to a certain console but that again is a part of Hype and Loyalty.
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

Your post proves another advantage the Ps3 has over the 360...longevity.
Sony themselves said that they expect the Ps3 to last around 10 years, which is way longer than any other console will ever last. Yes the 360 might be suitable for current gaming needs, which is why imo its not next gen at all. Like Oner said...its already almost maxed out of its full potential.
Besides...everyone knows that the life of the 360 is only a few months.

Ok?? First of all I dont know what kind of "high quality" TV you are talking about because HD Tv's all look like crap displaying 480...because 480 will always look like 480 on any TV lol. That would defeat the purpose of it being Hi Def.
Second, the 360 only play back its dvds up to 480p so it doesnt really matter how high of a quality TV you have it will all look the same...which is 480.

XBOX360:This is just an out of line thing to say...i've had my xbox360 for almost 1 year and a half and it works fine..most people will agree that they have a high failure rate ..but you connot say this to all xbox360..and microsoft did extend there warrenty to 3 years to accept this promblem..they have achknowledge the promblem and are working on it..
PS3:The PS3 is a powerful system only reason i have no invested in one is theres nothing out on it that catches my eye yet..maybe down the road there will be..looks like a great system to have to..maybe that new "home" thing they have will get me to buy it...that looks really nice and an intresting thing to have...other then that the PS3 is a great system i've played it and it was fun..but nothing is there to say i need to buy this now..

Maybe it is maybe its not... time will tell. The hardware is nothing without software. So the hardware numbers all just a pile of bull shit.
The point is I need a gaming console now, so I go for xbox. If time will tell that PS3 is a must have I'll buy.
If time will tell that PS3 is a bluray player, I'll feel sorry for all the fanboys who bought it for "the future".
The future is never a certainty. So you can't count on it.
