I have been having trouble backing up my DVD's lately so I started using DVD Shrink to burn as an .ISO file. This has been working just fine until the last couple of times. Now when I backup as an .ISO file it splits out into .IO0 thru .IO4 files and one .MDS file. Can someone tell me how to retrieve the file that I need in order to get the movies onto DVD's?

First of all Shrink can't burn anything. It uses Nero to burn the DVD,. Since you are getting an mds file, you must have Shrink target set to 9GB DL disc. The mds folder is the layer break info. Check you shrink settings on the preference tab after opening it in edit>preferences>preferences tab> select DVD5 or custom and type in 4450 so as not to burn so close to the edge of disc.

jreeder8,
Looks like you are using a FAT32 HD. All you really need to do is to point the ISO Burning program to the .mds file and it should burn the DVD properly. You might want to convert the HD to NTFS

jreeder8 hi :)

as Car.Mike says, there's no problem with FAT32
set target in shrink to 4360 and files to it's default of 1gb
then you will get a few 1gb files dependent on how large the data is, and 1 MDS file 5Kb. even if you are burning a D/L disc (you'll just get more files)
select the MDS file to burn. it has all the info needed to burn the files.
FAT32 will not create files larger than 4gb if you alter the settings. so if the data is larger than 4gig you'll still end up with more than one iso + an MDS
