I very much enjoyed Domreis's posts. I'm personally going for a PS3, but this is because I play as many RPGs as I can get my hands on.
As MrGrimace said, good RPGs are more common among Sony's line. If you really want Halo/Gears of War or something like that, PS3 is not better for you. I didn't know about most of the things Domreis said, but I've gotta go with PS3 regardless. The PS3 exclusive games almost all look like must-haves to me.
In my mind, it all comes down to what you're looking to play. I'd personally pay more for a lesser system if I was going to enjoy it more, and get the most out of it. If you're really not picky about your games, and you just play whatever's around, ignore everything I said. >.>
That is a good reason on why to buy a console. To tell you the truth I love all types of games! That is why I have a 360 and am planning on geting a Ps3! I am also geting the Ps3 for the blueray!
the thing is, that you are alowed to choose what you want wih the xbox 360. but you are forced to pay for things you may not want or need in the ps3, not to mention it downscales all games to 4080 if the hd tv does not support 7020, so for some people it could mean buying a whole new HDTV which as you must know cost a lot. oh and the ps3 does not come with component cables, which at the momment are hard to find.
and also ign have said that the ps3 os system is not that great and that the online is at the momment intime no match for xbox live.
PS3 specs may look better than xbox 360 but i am yet to see a game on the PS3 that looks better than any of the top end xbox 360 games such as gears of war, mass effect and halo 3.
